♫ Hymn: “This Little Light of Mine”

This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine

Let it shine all the time, let it shine

Let it shine all the time, let it shine

Take this little light round the world, I’m gonna let it shine (3x) Let it shine all the time, let it shine

The Apostles’ Creed

(said together)

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit

and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died

and was buried. He descended to the dead.

On the third day he rose again.

5

He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.

He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins,

the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Prayers of the People

Invitation to Confession (Called by Deacon Gene)

Trusting in God’s steadfast love, let us confess our sins

The Confession (said together)

Glorious God, you are all wisdom and a lamp unto our feet, yet we fail to listen to you and neglect to follow your guidance.

Forgive us, heal us, and lead us on, that we may walk in your ways and be happy in your refuge;

In Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.

The Absolution

(Declared by Rev’d Paul)

The good news of faith is this: If we call upon God we will be answered and forgiven.

That promise gives us peace and joy; let us share that peace and joy together.

All: Amen.

The Sharing of the Peace

(Invited by Rev’d Paul)

The peace of the Lord be always with you

All: And also with you.

The Prayer over the Gifts (Offered by Rev’d Paul)

Holy God, receive all we offer you this day, and bring us to that radiant glory which we see in the transfigured face of Jesus Christ

our Lord.

All: Amen.

Scout Promise (all former Scouts are invited to say the Promise)

“On my honour,

I promise that I will do my best To do my duty to God and the Queen

To help other people at all times, And to carry out the spirit of the Scout Law.”

Girl Guide Promise

(all former Guides are invited to say the Promise)

“I promise to do my best

To be true to myself, my beliefs and Canada I will take action for a better world

And respect the Guiding Law.”

The Lord’s Prayer And now, as our Saviour Christ has taught us, we are bold to say, All: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not

into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever and

ever. Amen.

♫ Hymn: “Shine, Jesus, Shine”

Lord, the light of Your love is shining,

In the midst of the darkness shining;

Jesus, Light of the world, shine upon us;

Set us free by the truth You now bring us,

Shine on me, shine on me.

Chorus:

Shine, Jesus shine,

Fill this land with the Father’s glory;

Blaze, Spirit, blaze,

Set our hearts on fire.

Flow, river, flow,

Flood the nations with grace and mercy;

Send forth Your Word,

Lord, and let there be light.

Lord, I come to Your awesome presence,

From the shadows into Your radiance;

By the blood I may enter Your brightness,

Search me, try me, consume all my darkness,

Shine on me, shine on me.

Repeat Chorus

As we gaze on your kingly brightness,

So our faces display Your likeness;

Ever changing from glory to glory,

Mirror’d here may our lives tell Your story,

Shine on me, shine on me.

The Blessing – Rev’d Paul

Announcements

♫ Hymn: “These Are The Days of Elijah”

These are the days of Elijah, declaring the word of the Lord;

And these are the days of your servant Moses, righteousness

being restored.

And though these are days of great trial, of famine and

darkness and sword,

Still we are a voice in the desert crying “Prepare ye the way of

the Lord”

Chorus:

Behold He comes, riding on the clouds, shining like

the sun, at the trumpet call;

Lift your voice, it’s the year of jubilee, out of Zion’s

hill salvation comes.

Behold He comes, riding on the clouds, shining like the sun,

at the trumpet call;

Lift your voice, it’s the year of jubilee, out of Zion’s hill

salvation comes.

These are the days of Ezekiel, the dry bones becoming as

flesh;

And these are the days of Your servant, David, rebuilding the

temple of praise.

These are the days of the harvest, the fields are as white in the

world,

And we are the labourers in the vineyard, declaring the Word

of the Lord.

The Dismissal

(Sent out by Deacon Bill)

♫ Hymn: Go Now In Peace

Go now in peace, never be afraid,

God will do with you, each hour of every day

Go now in faith, steadfast, strong and true,

Know He will guide you in all you do.

Go now in love, and show you believe,

Reach out to others so all the world can see.

God will be there, watching from above,

Go now in peace, in faith and in love.
