Position: Analyst, Corporate Actions Group: Investment Operations - Complex Securities & Reference Data Reports to: Supervisor, Corporate Actions Status: Full-Time Non-Exempt SUMMARY Member of team responsible for corporate actions, pricing, and security reference activity for all portfolios, serving as internal expert in all related topics. Primary responsibility is researching and processing mandatory and voluntary corporate actions. The individual will work closely with the portfolio management team to support their analysis and election decisions and ensure elections are processed correctly and timely. The individual will also work closely with custodians, administrators and brokers to approve and reconcile all corporate action activity. Additional responsibilities include review of daily valuations review of security reference data changes. The individual will also be involved with a variety of tasks to support operations, investments, compliance, performance, client service, and IT. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Research and Processing – Research all complex corporate action events, confirming restrictions and conditions. Review market impact to portfolios, escalate findings to portfolio managers and ensure daily accounting processing is accurate. Strong accounting skills and knowledge of local market fundamentals is essential Reconciliation – Confirm portfolio positions, instruct custodians with appropriate investment decisions and assist operations with reconciling position and cash discrepancies. Daily communication with custodians, brokers and middle office support is required Projects – Assist in the implementation of projects to improve the daily workflow of the team. Identify and contribute to enhancements and automated solutions. Accounting/Taxation – Approve all corporate action processing instructions across a variety of event types. This includes adherence to associated cost, tax and fund domicile. Knowledge of US Tax Code helpful in this role (e.g. Section 302 tax) Pricing – Daily and monthly review of pricing to ensure accurate valuation Security Data Integrity – Review of security data applications.
