AEOS 3.1 – Release Guide 3 | 24

In the security management world, change is the only constant factor. With many security systems, responding to this relentless change is time consuming and expensive. That is why Nedap developed AEOS, a truly integral security management platform that is simple and intuitive to use. The key focus in this is not the technology, but the way in which it is used on a day-to-day basis. Because of this users make less mistakes, increasing your efficiency and security. This customisable approach has led to AEOS 3.1 – the most user friendly system that offers certainty in the ever changing world of security.

The development of AEOS is based on the daily use of the system by receptionists, guards, security managers and ICT managers. Because of this, we believe AEOS is the world’s smartest security solution. We reinforce this by embracing the principles of: flexibility, cost effectiveness and ease of use. These principles guide everything we do.

Flexible: a security system gives you unlimited functionality, so you can set up your system to suit your needs exactly. Cost effective: the costs for maintaining and extending your system

can be minimised.

User friendly: One system is easier to operate and control.

AEOS 3.1 – Release Guide 5 | 24

The following topics summarise the investments that are delivered in AEOS 3.1.

With an entirely new user experience, AEOS 3.1 allows you to access everything you need via one portal - providing fast, fluid access to all applications. All with the same look and feel.

Get in, get going and get done. So you can focus on that what is most important – a secure environment.

AEOS 3.1 – Release Guide 6 | 24

We’ve designed all applications to have the same look and feel - keeping in mind the different types of users. This new user experience organises information in a clean and consistent way. It is now even easier to use AEOS, no matter what task you need to perform.

The identity & authorisation interface is designed in a style that reflects the way that people actually work, so you can perform actions with fewer clicks.

AEOS 3.1 – Release Guide 7 | 24

This unified design has led to a redesign of the well known AEOS HTML interface. This interface is now called configuration & maintenance.

AEOS 3.1 – Release Guide 8 | 24

The new user experience organizes information in a clean, consistent and easy-to-access manner. It is now easy to manage e.g. upcoming visits, within one clear overview.

If someone wants to use a company car you need to know which cars are available quickly and accurately. By introducing the unique list box only available cars are shown. Giving you immediate insight into the availability of each company car. If the key is given to someone, this car is not shown in the list box. As soon as the key is returned, the list box is updated immediately to enable someone else to use the company car. You can use this list box to track availability of all kinds of physical objects, giving you an accurate overview of availability.

Your people are busy – and when they need to issue a badge they need to do it quickly and easily. Now they can attach documents for a persons’ identification directly on a person’s profile. Making it faster to issue a badge and easier to find the related documents for that person.

AEOS 3.1 – Release Guide 9 | 24

Users don’t want to spend time searching for data, they want to find their data. The quick search with drop down list gives you suggestions as soon as you start typing, making it much faster and easier to find the data you are looking for.

Users can easily end a visit and collect their badge within one single action in AEOS 3.1. As soon as a visit has ended a pop up is shown to remind the user to collect the badge. This increases efficiency and improves security.

No need to open the visitors profile, you can easily block visitors using the visit form. Saving the users time for other tasks.

Quickly enter colleagues or vehicles that have the same fields to be filled. You can simply click next and all similar fields are copied to the new person. The only thing you need to do now is enter the right name.

AEOS 3.1 – Release Guide 10 | 24

There is now an extremely fast way to manually assign changes to multiple people in one action. No need to do this individually, just select all the carriers that need the same modification in their authorisation. AEOS immediately updates all their profiles and authorisations with a single mouse click.

It is fast and easy to see event history of employees, contractors and visitors. This is extremely useful in case you have procedures to follow. If you hover the mouse over the last visit, additional information is automatically displayed. For visitors, visit history is also available. Giving you immediate access to all relevant information you need regarding this visitor.

AEOS 3.1 – Release Guide 11 | 24

It is now possible to allocate multiple count groups to people or vehicles using the Identity & Authorisation interface. This is very useful if you share for example parking spaces with another company. In total there are 100 spaces available and you can both use 50 parking spaces. It is not possible for employees of the other company to enter the car park when all their spaces are occupied. Even when you still have some available. Only your employees can enter the car park, as the open spaces are reserved for them. In this way AEOS count group management avoids frustration of misuse of areas or zones.

It is now easy to allocate intrusion templates to people within the same dashboard. No need to switch to another application, just enter the right zones for the right person and authorisations are updated.

Images of carriers are now connected with text events, giving you a full overview of an event. The last event shows you the picture of the carrier – whether it is a person or a car. The dashboard gives you a complete overview, as you can add other widgets like entrances and upcoming visits on demand.

AEOS 3.1 – Release Guide 12 | 24

We have developed an application that’s easy for everyone to use - receptionists, guards and security officers. All tasks are straightforward, minimising the learning curve, maximising effectiveness.

With AEOS Surveillance you have a great overview to watch live and recorded footages.

Sliding panels enable you to hide the controls when you don’t need them, while still keeping them readily available. A simple mouse movement brings them to the foreground, so your workflow’s not interrupted in calling them up. And if there are tools you use often, you can pin them down so they’re constantly in view.

Global views give high level users insight in the views that are most common, preferred and required. These general views are available for users with the appropriate authorisation.

Nedap Security Management www.nedapsecurity.com

AEOS 3.1 – Release Guide 14 | 24

Your people are given the freedom to save personal views that show only those cameras relevant to them. Allowing them quick access to images. With the personal view users can easily generate meaningful cross sections of images and capture those in a preset. Administrators can also use this to control the operator’s activities. Assigning feeds to views is as simple as dragging and dropping the desired images into the view.

It is possible to look back at footage up until a preset duration, without losing control over the current situation. While reviewing the images you still have the much-needed overview of the current (live) situation. This feature enables time navigation within a single viewport on a single feed. Without switching to another screen guards can execute an effective event assessment. Making this a delayed live viewing feature.

Only seeing information when and where you need it is key to providing a clutter-free working environment. In AEOS 3.1 elements only are shown when you move the mouse over the specific element to be acted upon. This element will be highlighted, giving you a clear overview what the controls will do and what they relate to.

Nedap Security Management www.nedapsecurity.com

AEOS 3.1 – Release Guide 16 | 24

The review mode shows just those elements that are relevant to interpret recorded images. You can use the timewheel mechanism to navigate through time. Once the correct video image is found, a selection of the relevant time section can be made and the evidence can easily be exported.

If an event happens it’s important to get a clear overview of relevant footage to interpret what’s happened and export the burden of proof. That is why we’ve created the timewheel - a powerful feature that allows for quick and effective investigation of the images and easy selection and export of recorded footage that’s relevant to the event. The timewheel is intuitive to use and provides you with the relevant images within seconds. It’s easy to fast forward and rewind images to move through time with the greatest speed and ease. You simply select the time frame and specific cameras or views you want to search in. The timewheel offers you the possibility to operate all cameras in one view at once and gives a clear overview of the available images.

Take access control to the next level with AEOS Locker Management. You can simply apply the same principles of your access control policy to all lockable compartments. Your employees can use their current access card to access a variety of secure compartments including lockers, filing cabinets, laptop lockers or post-boxes. This eliminates key management and enables you to manage authorisations on micro level. AEOS lets you easily see the history of use. So you know who has had access to which documents, equipment or compartments and at what time.

Use any card technology you want with AEOS Locker Management. Lockers that are managed by AEOS can be opened using different kinds of technologies including RFID, magnetic stripes or barcodes. You can keep your existing readers to make the most out of your investments or choose your reader of choice. You can integrate your AEOS locker management system with different type of devices and readers, opening a world of endless possibilities.

AEOS 3.1 comes with the smart timer functionality. It is now possible to authorise your employees for a locker for a preset time, linked to their shifts. If your people work overtime or irregularly you can configure the timer to automatically adjust itself in line with their working hours. This way they are assured that their belongings are securely stored, no matter what happens. AEOS gives you the possibility to release or block the locker if the employee claims the locker too long.

AEOS 3.1 – Release Guide 19 | 24

We believe you deserve the security solution that fits your situation best. Hardware can no longer limit your possibilities. The AEOS platform provides several possibilities to integrate with other systems. All of these are based around open standards such as API access, SOAP web services and configuration – all connected into the modern open architecture of AEOS. AEOS 3.1 introduces several new investments in our platform capabilities to further our commitment to an open, customizable and extensible security platform.

AEOS 3.1 is based on JBOSS Application Server 7.1.3. As a result you have a system that is up to date with the latest developments. You benefit from the latest security patches and a significant reduction in start up time of your AEOS Application server. It allows the AEOS platform to comply with the latest standards in security and technology. This application server technology will allow us to deliver new features quickly and keep your AEOS system technologically up to date.

With SOAP web services all tasks that you execute in AEOS can be automated by external applications. SOAP is the engine for technology partners to built integrations with their own applications in the categories:

Person data and carrier ID Authorisations Parameters like day/time schedules Access Templates

AEOS 3.1 comes with an extension to the Security Level functions thanks to SOAP web services. AEOS Security Levels allows you to quickly set in motion predefined security procedures when an increased level of risk is reached. With the SOAP web services it is now possible to trigger security levels from another system. This trigger can activate AEOS Security Levels, ensuring you can act even faster if there’s an incident.

AEOS 3.1 – Release Guide 20 | 24

With AEOS 3.1 it is possible to configure multistreaming. AEOS makes intelligent use of its resources so there’s no compromise on quality or performance. By adjusting the quality of footage according to your client system’s current demands, AEOS ensures images are always shown at the best possible quality while keeping demands on client performance as low as possible. AEOS can also be set so the type of event or trigger determines the quality of recording and the camera’s orientation and zoom. Footage linked to events, for example, is displayed and stored in high resolution, while less relevant recordings aren’t.

Live footage can be shared among an unlimited number of client systems and is distributed over your network in an effective, efficient manner. This allows several people to watch live recordings at the same time, wherever they are, while ensuring your network is loaded efficiently.

The AEOS device integration protocol (DIP) is an Application Programming Interface which allows third party manufacturers to integrate their controllers and devices. With this API it is possible to connect legacy access control systems and readers to AEOS. Integrating your existing infrastructure within AEOS makes the most of your previous purchases, and you can adapt easily as your needs change.
