Steve Andras started in thebuilding trade as aframing carpenter in

1976. In 1984, he organized hiscompany, Pioneer BasementWaterproofing. During the last18 years he has been thedriving force behind thedevelopment and growth ofthis company which servicesMassachusetts, Rhode Islandand Southern New Hampshire.

His dedication to thewaterproofing industry and hisreputation as an honestbusinessman has helped makePioneer Basement Waterproof-ing, Inc. one of the mostrespected waterproofingcompanies in Southern NewEngland. Steve has beeninvolved in solving over 13,000wet basements.

Steve also has many yearsof hands-on-experience when

it comes to the proper mixingand finishing of concrete.

He is a NAWSRC CertifiedWaterproofing Contractor(CWC) and also a NAWSRCCertified Foundation RepairContractor (CFRC). He hasbeen a member of theNAWSRC board of directorssince 1996 and is currentlypresident of the association.

Crack InjectionUsing Epoxy andPolyurethane GroutLouis F. Cole, Emecole, Inc.

Louis F. Cole operatesboth Emecole and Jacolecompanies, each of

which manufacture productsfor the concrete repair indus-try. He has graduate degreesin organic chemistry, polymerengineering and businessadministration. Louis has beenformulating epoxies since 1964and polyurethane systemssince 1985. He has concen-

trated his efforts to the con-crete repair market since 1985(mostly crack repair) and holds10 patents dealing with materi-als, delivery and dispensingsystems.

Rafael A. Rivas moved toAustin, Texas in 1990, asproject manager of a

building restoration andwaterproofing crew. When thecompany’s owner unexpect-edly shut down his business,Rafael and a fellow workerdecided to go into business forthemselves. Citadel RestorationServices was establishedJanuary 17, 1992.

In December 1993, Rafaelbought out his partner and iscurrently 100% owner andpresident of the corporation.He is responsible for market-ing; cost estimating; contract

Todd L. Jackson, C.W.C.has been part of thefoundation repair

industry since 1985. In 1991,he established Jackson Water-proofing, Inc. and in 1994formed S.T. Concrete Restora-tion. In 1996, Jackson becamea certified waterproofingcontractor through NAWSRC.He is one of 46 certifiedwaterproofing contractors inthe United States and is one ofonly two companies withcertified waterproofers on staffin the State of Michigan.

In 1994, Todd became thefirst certified Epoxy Technicianthrough J. Dedoes. He thentook on the position of techni-cal representative and contin-ued to oversee production,marketing, developing andtesting of new materials andmetering systems with them.He has lectured at technicaland sales seminars across theU.S. and Canada and has puthundreds of constructioncompanies into epoxy andpolyurethane grout programsfor related foundation prob-lems.

Todd has been on numer-ous syndicated and local home

improvement talk-radio showsdiscussing foundation-relatedproblems and cures. Hecurrently serves as technicalrepresentative for FortressStabilization Systems, a state ofthe art carbon fiber reinforce-ment system. He is also on theA.C.I. Committee 440 for FiberReinforced Polymer Reinforce-ment.

Todd has received mastercertificates in trouble shootingconcrete and crack injection torepair concrete at Aberdeen’sWorld of Concrete and Ther-mal-Chem Epoxy applicationprograms. He is a long-standing member of theAmerican Concrete Institute,International Concrete RepairInstitute, the National Associa-tion of Waterproofing andStructural Repair Contractorsand the Construction Associa-tion of Michigan. He is also alicensed residential builder inthe State of Michigan.

Scott Robeson is a memberof the NAWSRC board ofdirectors. He is a licensed

residential builder with 20years experience in foundationrepair. He is currently em-ployed by Ram Jack SystemsDistribution.

Mike Trotter has ownedand managed TrotterCompany for more

than 30 years. In 1972 hereceived his first U.S. Patent.He built the first earth shel-tered, solar heated building inDeKalb County, Georgia in1980. In 1990 he was the firstsouthern contractor to beelected to the Board of Direc-tors of the National Associationof Waterproofing Contractors.

1992 Mike was electedpresident of the NAWC. Heserved as vice president forfour terms. In 2000 when theNAWC changed its name to theNational Association of Water-proofing and Structural RepairContractors, Mike served as thefirst President. He is theauthor of the award winningseminar, “Residential Founda-tion Repair 101.”

Become an NAWSRC CertifiedWaterproofing or FoundationRepair Contractor®

Becoming an NAWSRC Certified Waterproofing or FoundationRepair Contractor has many benefits. For one, you are recognizedas one of those members of the industry who has demonstrated

superior knowledge and dedication to the ideals of the association. Youdemonstrate to your customers your commitment to the best in techni-cal skills and devotion to the highest ethical standards.

It is not easy to become certified. To qualify, you must be a member ofthe industry for at least four years and your company must be a memberof NAWSRC for at least one year. You must demonstrate high industrystandards and dedication to continuing your professional education. Afterqualifying, you are tested in various technical areas including safety andethics. Your obligation to the ideals of the certification program do notstop upon certification. To maintain your certification, you must obtain 15hours of continuing professional education every two years.

As part of the certification process, you will obtain a comprehensivelibrary of books and articles which contain a rich store of referencematerial. In addition, you will receive a handsome certificate and beeligible to receive media material for use in advertising your certification.

Certification examinations are given during the annual convention andmid-year meeting.
