Nashville is a surprise - acomplex personalitybest described as a
Janus, a two-sided phenom-enon that brings delights tovisitors and residents alike. The‘Music City’ side is bold andloud and comes first to mind -a Johnny-come-lately withobvious flash and dash.Nashville’s quieter side reflectsher nineteenth-century role asa cultural and historical center, but with plenty of charms tointerest twenty-first-centuryvisitors. The lady is just a bittoo genteel to toot her ownhorn loudly. Put the two sidestogether and you’ve got yinand yang and one terrificcombination.”
So says Susann Tepperbergin the May 2001 issue ofPhysicians’ Travel & MeetingGuide.
