GENERAL

It is important that the machine is maintained correctly toensure proper function. It should be kept clean so that anyleakage, loose bolts and loose connections can be discov-ered in time.

Make a habit of inspecting the machine every day beforestarting up by checking all round it to detect any sign ofleakage or other faults.

SPARE A THOUGHT FOR THE ENVIRONMENT!Do not let oil, fuel and other environmentally haz-ardous substances contaminate the environment.Always dispose of used filters, drained oil and anyremaining fuel properly.

This manual contains instructions for periodic attentionwhich should normally be carried out by the operator.

There are additional instructions relating to theengine, for which the manufacturer’s instructionsare detailed in the engine manual.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS (FOR ALL LIGHT PRODUCTS)

SymbolsThe signal words WARNING and CAUTIONused in the safety instructions have the follow-ing meanings:

WARNING: Indicates danger orhazardous procedure that couldlead to serious or mortal injury ifthe warning is neglected.

CAUTION: Indicates danger or haz-ardous procedure that could lead tomachine or property damage if thewarning is neglected.

Important rules for your safety

The machine must not be modifiedwithout the prior consent of the man-ufacturer. Use only original parts.Use only the accessories recom-mended by Dynapac. If modificationsnot approved by Dynapac are carriedout, these could result in serious in-jury to yourself or other personnel.

• These recommendations are based oninternational safety standards.

• You must also observe any local safetyregulations which may be in force. Read allinstructions carefully before operating themachine. Keep the instructions in a safe place.

• Signs and stickers giving important informationabout safety and maintenance are suppliedwith every machine. Make sure that they arealways legible. The ordering numbers for newstickers can be found in the spare parts list.

• Use of the machine and its accessories isrestricted to the applications specified in theproduct literature.

• For reasons of product safety, the machinemust not be modified in any way.

• Replace damaged parts immediately.Replace all wear parts in good time.

Be alertAlways pay attention to what you are doing, anduse your common sense. Do not use the ma-chine if you are tired or under the influence ofdrugs, alcohol or other substances which caneffect your vision, reaction ability or judgement.

Safety equipment

Long exposure to loud noise withoutear protectors can cause permanentdamage to hearing.

Long exposure to vibrations can dam-age the hands, fingers and wrists. Donot use the machine if you experiencediscomfort, cramp or pain. Consult adoctor before resuming work withthe machine.

Always use approved safety equipment. Theoperator, and people in the immediate vicinity ofthe working area, must wear:• Safety helmet• Safety goggles• Ear protectors• Dust mask in dusty environments• High-visibility clothing• Protective gloves• Protective shoesAvoid wearing loosely fitting clothing that mightget caught in the machine. If you have long hair, cover it with a hair net. Vibrations from hand-heldmachines are transmitted into the hands via thehandles of the machine. Dynapac machinesfeature a handle design that absorbs a large partof the machine vibrations. The vibrations are noteliminated entirely, but it is possible to use themachines for longer periods of time without therisk of injury.Be alert to acoustic signals from other ma-chines in the working area.

Working areaDo not use the machine near flammable materialor in explosive environments. Sparks can beemitted from the exhaust pipe, and these canignite flammable material. When you take a pauseor have finished working with the machine, do notpark it on or near flammable materials. The ex-haust pipe can get very hot during operation, andcan cause certain material to ignite. Make surethat there are no other personnel inside the work-ing area while the machine is in use. Keep theworksite clean and free of extraneous objects.Store the machine in a safe place, out of unauthor-ized’s reach, preferably in a locked container.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS (FOR ALL LIGHT PRODUCTS)

Always take extreme care when driv-ing the machine on slopes. Alwaysdrive straight up and down on slopes.Do not exceed the maximum grada-bility of the machine according to theinstruction book. Stay clear of ma-chine when operating on a slope or ina trench.

Do not touch the engine, the exhaust pipe orthe eccentric element of the machine. Theygets very hot during operation and can causeburn injuries.

Do not touch V-belts or rotating parts duringoperation.

ParkingPark the machine on ground as level and firmas possible. Before leaving machine:• Apply the parking brake.• Shut off the engine and pull the ignition key

out.

Loading/Unloading

Never remain under or in theimmediate vicinity of the machinewhen it is lifted by a crane. Only usemarked lifting points. Always makesure that all lifting devices aredimensioned for the weight of theproducts.

MaintenanceMaintenance work must only be carried out byskilled personnel. Keep unauthorized personsaway from the machine. Do not carry out mainte-nance work while the machine is moving or theengine is running.

Filling with fuel (Gasoline/diesel)

Petrol has an extremely low flash-point and can be explosive in certainsituations. Do not smoke. Make surethat worksite ventilation is good.

Keep away from all hot or spark-generatingobjects when handling fuel. Wait until the ma-chine has cooled before filling the tank. Fill thetank at least 3 metres away from where youintend to use the machine. Avoid spilling petrol, diesel or oil on the ground. Protect your handsfrom contact with petrol, diesel and oil.

Open the tank cap slowly to release anyoverpressure that might exist in the tank. Donot overfill the tank. Inspect the machine forfuel leakage regularly.

Do not use a machine that is leaking fuel.

Starting the machine

Before starting read instructionbook and make your self familiarwith the machine and make surethat:

• All handles are free from grease, oil and dirt.• The machine does not show any obvious

faults.• All protective devices are securely fastened in

their places.• All control levers in ”neutral” position.

Start the machine according to the instruction-book.

Operation

Keep your feet well clear of themachine.

Do not operate the machine inpoorly ventilated spaces. There isa risk of carbon monoxide poison-ing.

Use the machine only for the purpose for whichit is intended. Make sure you know how to stopthe machine quickly in the event of an emer-gency situation.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS (FOR ALL LIGHT PRODUCTS)

Working with the hydraulic systemRegular maintenance of the hydraulic system isimportant. Minor damage or a split hose or cou-pling can have devastating consequences. Bearin mind that the hydraulic hoses are made ofrubber and can deteriorate with age, which canresult in splitting. In all cases of uncertainty withregard to durability or wear, replace the hoseswith new original hoses from Dynapac.

Working with batteryThe battery contains poisonous and corrosivesulphuric acid. Wear protective glasses andavoid getting acid on your skin, clothes or on themachines. If you get sulphuric acid on yourself, rinse the skin with water. If you get acid in youreyes, rinse them with water for at least 15 min-utes and seek immediate medical treatment. Thegas that is emitted by the battery is explosive. When fitting or replacing a battery, always takecare so that you do not short- circuit the batterypoles.

RepairNever use a machine that is damaged. Qualifiedrepair work requires trained personnel, pleasecontact your nearest authorized workshop.

Extinguishing firesIf there is a fire in or on the machine, it is bestto use an ABE-class fire extinguisher. However, a BE-class CO2 extinguisher isalso suitable.

Tipping angle on side slopes

When driving near an edge, at least two thirds of theplate must be on firm solid ground.

If the machine tips over, switch off theengine before attempting to lift the ma-chine.

Make sure that the work site is safe. Wet and looseearth reduces manoeuvrability especially on slopingground. Always observe particular caution on slopingand uneven terrain.

Where possible, avoid all driving across aslope. Instead, drive up and down on slop-ing ground.

Never work on slopes that are greater than the capabil-ity of the machine. Maximum slope of the machine inoperation is 20° (depending on condition of the ground).

The tilting angle is measured on a hard, level surfacewith the machine stationary. Vibration switched OFFand all tanks full. Remember that loose ground, vibra-tion switched ON, and driving speed can all cause themachine to topple even on a smaller slope than speci-fied here.

Never leave the machine unattended withthe engine running.
