Message from the Host County
We hope that you will consider participating in this year's craft camp. We, along with the area committee, have been working very hard to plan a very exciting weekend. We hope that there will be an excitement in the air as participants go from class to class creating spectacular masterpieces. Not only will participants piece together their craft projects, but they will also have to help piece together puzzles and solve mysteries. We'll "document" the weekend with photo opportunities as we work together as "Crafty Detectives". We plan to make this year's Craft Camp event the best one ever and we hope that you will join us! Lincoln County Extension Homemakers Association
Mystery Classes -- We are offering three "Mystery Classes" during the weekend. In these classes, the instructors will provide most, if not all, the supplies. The end project in each class is something that everyone will cherish and use proudly in their home. These classes will be very creative and lots of fun. Please look at the "Mystery Classes", try to solve the riddle or clue provided as the description, and sign up for them.
Friday Meet and Greet on Porch 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Outside on the Porch All supplies provided Everyone is invited to create a notepad holder that is so cute, adorable, and practical. We will find ourselves using this every day. Please come by and create your very own notepad holder. Make It/Take It Classes For some participants, this may be new. We are bringing back the Make It/Take It classes this year. For Make It/Take It Classes, the instructors will provide a kit ready to be put together. Participants can then choose to purchase a kit and make the item or take it with them for later assembly. These classes will be happening in the cafeteria on Friday night starting at 9:30 p.m. You may choose to do as few or as many classes as you want. Prices for the classes will vary. We plan to have a display of the Make It/Take It Classes during the afternoon and evening on Friday. This is a really fun way to learn new skills and create some unique projects. Class fees for Make It/Take It Classes are not in-cluded on the registration form; so, please plan accordingly. Participants pay the instructors at these classes when they purchase the kit. Directions to Lake Cumberland 4-H Educational Center
17500 Hwy. 196, Nancy, KY 42544
270-866-4215
I-75 South: You could take I-75 South to Mt. Vernon, go 20 miles southwest toward KY-80. That’s a right
turn. KY-80 runs into Cumberland Parkway at Somerset, look for Bowling Green exit. Then follow the bul-
lets below.
Cumberland Parkway: US-27 South to Cumberland Parkway should be the best route for everyone.
Take the Bowling Green exit off US-27, that is the second exit. There are two exits very close together so
make sure you take the second one.
Traveling Cumberland Parkway, take Exit #78 (Nancy Exit)
Traveling East, turn right (or traveling west, turn left) at the end of the exit
Travel approximately 500 feet; turn right onto Road 3262, this road will run directly into Hwy. 196
You need to turn right onto Hwy 196 and travel 12 miles into the community of “Jabez”. During the 12
mile stretch, you will pass the Russell County sign on your right and then there will be the Jabez sign on
your right upon a slight hill
Hwy 196 will make a sharp left turn in this community. The left turn will be after you pass a little gro-
cery/gas station called Harris Grocery on your right
Once you make the left turn, you will travel 5 miles until the road comes to an end. This road is still
Hwy 196 and during the 5 mile stretch, you will pass the Wayne County sign on your right. You will
also see a Pine Tree estate sign on your right– keep going. Then, you will see a small white country
church on your right, at this point you will be less than a half mile from the center.
The Lake Cumberland 4-H Educational Center is located at the end of the road.
