Shaping Hearts for God
July 26: Lesson 8
M (Joshua 18:1-10) T (Joshua 20:1-9) W (Joshua 21:1-3, 41-45) Th (Joshua 23:1-13) F (Joshua 24:14-33)
Family Challenge: God gave instructions for dividing the Promised Land. The people needed God’s help and direction. Each person in Israel had to decide to follow the Lord. Each one of us must also decide to follow God. Some people will, but many won’t. We will have some friends who do not. Name three things that help you follow God whether or not others do. Discuss with others.
NOTE TO PARENTS: Please continue to read and study your children’s SHFG Bible Lessons together. Practice/recite the Bible Knowledge Expectations cards. Feedback from many of you has been very positive! Keep up the Good Work! Without looking, can you answer these? 1) Recite books of Old Testament 2) Recite books of New Testament 3) Recite Genesis 1:1 4) Recite John 3:16 5) Number of books in Old Testament … New Testament … whole Bible 6) What is Genesis about? 7) What is Exodus about?
Brian/Kate Leverett and Lori Renfro have gift cards from local venders to purchase. When giving Gift Cards
for wedding or baby showers, please remember to check with them … and help support the camp, too!

Consider One Another I was thrilled to see our in-person gatherings break the 200 barrier this last Lord’s Day. As we come back together, we are bringing a diverse group of people together under one roof who have different feelings about how to handle the Coronavirus. We do not want to be divided by these things. How sad it would be to say that the body of Christ was divided by a man-made disease. I want to help/respect you, and I know that you want to help/respect me. I want to offer four ways that we can love one another in our worship services through these times. NO HUGGING I know that some of us like to
hug, and it is a sign of affection and care for others. Unfortunately, I have heard from several who have been on the receiving end of undesired hugs over the last few week. They were not undesired because of the person but because of concern they were being given COVID-19. For the time being, lets only hug if we are related by something other than the blood of Jesus!
NO HANDSHAKING In particular I have in mind approaching someone with our hand extended as a challenge, “Will you shake my hand?” That is inappropriate, and we need to not do that.
PLEASE CLEAR AISLES AND DOORWAYS For those who are comfortable fellow-shipping after services it can be exceeding-ly difficult to know what to do. Let us just make sure that we are not blocking the aisles, doorways, or hallways that others are trying to use to exit without contact. Luckily, we have a huge auditorium, foyer, and parking lot to help us find space!
PLEASE COMMUNICATE If you do not want someone to hug you, shake your hand, or come within 6 feet of you at this time, please feel free to communicate that. No one will get offended.
“ And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works.” Hebrews 10:24
~Westley Hazel
