What is Formula Student?

� A real start-to-finish victory for your future. This is what the Formula Student is all about.



� Formula Student is the largest engineering competition in theworld with the aim of creating better engineers by giving thestudents hands-on experience. Every competing team designs,manufactures and tests a vehicle with which they then competeagainst other teams in several different events – all of this takesplace during less than one year.



� There are both dynamic events such as endurance andacceleration, and static events where the cost of manufacturingand the business idea of the project are presented to the judges.Overall, the car and the competitions are the means used todevelop our engineering skills.



� The Formula Student competition forms a connection betweenthe "dull" theory learned at a university and a college and thepractical experience gained on and beside the race track.

� Each student team drafts, designs and constructs their own one-seater race car for a fictional manufacturing company.

� Each car must fulfill certain requirements, such as technicalspecifications and driving safety

2. T.U. Iasi Racing Team – short history


T.U. Iasi Racing Team is the second student team from Romania,which accepted the challenge to design and build a FormulaStudent single seater race car.

Even after our first participation, according to FormulaStudent/SAE World Ranking List, we have the best scores fromRomanians teams.

Since our debut year in 2012 in Circuit de Catalunya - Spain, wecompete in events across Europe where we have to prove ourengineering and management skills.

Until now, our team participated in Spain (2012) and Hungary(2013 and 2015). Even if we was qualified for Spain, Italy orCzech Republic and we couldn’t participate due to financialissues, we will continue our career!
