FORMS AND SCAFFOLDINGS:

Forms used in the project is a combination of wood forms/scaffolding & steel forms/scaffolding. Since the structure is a 2 storey structure only, the traditional wood formworks & scaffoldings are the method used. As seen on the pictures(see pictures) 2x3,2x4,diagonals,horizontal,vertical & braces were used. Plywood is adopted on column & beam forms supported by wood braces (see picture). As seen in the study of construction method (see pictures on book), this method is still widely used as in the case on Vista Grande Subdivision.

Steel forms come in used in ceiling/2nd level flooring(see pictures). This is a practical method since no vertical supports will be needed which will contribute to additional construction cost. This curved form will only be needing ¾” thick plyboard cut into shape. These ceiling forms are then pulled out after the concrete has hardened and can be used to other areas unlike the wood forms which will become refuse after it’s tear due to repeated usage.

Steel forms like the 2x6 steel channel was used as a platform which is tougher than the lumber & has a longer length. That is why it is used in the project. Steel scaffolding is used where high vertical levels is to be reached. It was used during the installation of the covered basketball court framing & roofing (see picture).
