analysis. A Forensic Scientist is professionally trained to have law enforcement agencies solve crimes through evidence and the use of a fingerprint database. In the future a forensic scientist will become more efficient at their jobs with an automatic enrollment of all people into the AFIS database allowing for quicker crime solving and increased National Safety.

Where Forensic Scientists Work

Most People think that Forensic Scientists just work in labs but that’s not true. They don’t just work in labs but they also work on scenes of crime. At scenes of crime Forensic Scientists search for evidence like a weapon, and they look for fingerprints. In the lab they go over the evidence , and figure out who’s fingerprint they found if they found one.

Equipment

Forensic Scientists use all different types of tools, some that are electronic and some that are not. Some of the things they use are Microscopes to look close at things, Touch fingerprint pads to get a fingerprint, Rulers to measure things, Evidence Markers, Filters, and a camera. All of these tools are used almost every crime they do. “However “diagnostic tools” are pretty much bulky and expensive, only the largest forensic laboratories in the US can accommodate some of the offices” (

Schooling

If you want to become a forensic scientist then you should take some classes in High School. Some of the classes are Mathematics, Computers, Earth Sciences, Biology, and Chemistry. Most jobs require you to have a bachelors degree, and they make you have on the job training.” The Applied Forensic Sciences Department now includes both an Undergraduate Bachelor of Sciences Degree program and a Master of Science in Anthropology program, with a primary focus on Forensic and Biological Anthropology” (mai).

Types of Forensic Science

There are several different types of forensic Science. There is Forensic anthropologist which is the study of Bones, Forensic Dentistry, and Forensic Psychology. “The mission of the Forensic Science Academy (FSA) is to serve as a scientific training center of excellence for forensic anthropology, archaeology, and odontology”(jpac)

In the Future

In the future Forensic Science will become more efficient at their jobs with an automatic enrollment of all people into the AFIS database allowing for quicker crime solving, and increased national safety.

Schooling ChangeIn the future the training and Schooling will change

Dramatically. The use of computers will be more informational, will be faster, and will be more efficient. In the future classes will not be taught with a teacher in the room but there will be a TV in a room with a person from a forensic science lab teaching you because the know everything there is to know. Kids will have a headset on so they can talk with the teacher and the teacher will be able to hear them.

Changes In Technology

Their will be major changes in technology. The searching of fingerprints through a database will be faster and more efficient, meaning not only will people with a medical or crime record will be in the database but everyone will be. When you are born you will automatically be put into the database no matter what.

Conclusion

A forensic Scientists job has changed through the use of computers, classes, and fingerprint searches. Now Forensic Scientists are able to solve crimes and mysteries and protect national safety. They still have the same purpose, but it will be even better for National Safety because we can catch criminals faster through DNA analysis. The Forensic Scientists of the future will make us even safer!
