FOREIGN TRADE TURNOVER

OF THE REPUBLIC OF UZBEKISTAN (January-September 2018)

In January-September 2018, the foreign trade turnover of the republic

amounted to $ 23 044.7 million and increased, compared to the same period last

year, by 17.2%. Exports amounted to $ 9 367.6 million (down 0.4%), imports to

$ 13 677,1 million (growth rates 33.3%). The balance of foreign trade is minus

$ 4 309,5 million.

As a result of the increase in production of products that replaced imported

goods and the diversification of the industrial structure, significant changes have

been achieved in the structure of exports.

The order of the states with the largest share in the commodity turnover of

the republic for the nine months of 2018 remained unchanged, as in the eight

months of the current year.

As a result of measures taken by the government of the republic to

strengthen cooperation with the CIS countries and comprehensive support of

foreign trade, the share of CIS countries in foreign trade turnover in January-

September 2018 was 38.6% and, compared to the same period, the growth rate of

foreign trade turnover was 34.4 %.

The share of other countries in foreign trade turnover in January-September

2017 was 66.3%. In the current year, foreign trade turnover with them decreased

by 4.9% and amounted to 61.4%.

EXPORT

In January-September 2018, exports totaled $ 9 367.6 million (down 0.4%).

The share of goods in the composition of exports reached 75.9%, of which energy

carriers and petroleum products-20.2%, food products-8.8%, chemical products

and products from it-7.3%.

2,257.3 million USD, or 24.1% of total exports and increased, compared to the

same period of previous year by 21.9%.

The main part of the export of services is transport services, tourism, as well

as telecommunication, information, computer and financial services.

China and Russia have the largest share in the export of goods and services

of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The share of these countries in total exports is

37.1%.

The exported goods to China and Russia include a group of energy carriers

and petroleum products, chemical products and products from it, as well as food

products.

Export of fruits and vegetables

The volume of exports of fruits and vegetables amounted to more than

873.5 thousand tons and reached $ 649.4 million (growth rate of 50.0%).

From the structure of exports of fruits and vegetables and vegetables, more

than 512.6 thousand tons were exported (physical growth increased 2.1 times) in

the amount of 231.4 million USD, fruits and berries - 229.3 thousand tons (physical

growth increased by 120.0%) in the amount of 305.8 million USD (monetary growth,

compared to the same period of previuos year, was 58.6% and 64.3%,

respectively).

Textile exports

In January-September 2018, exports of textile products amounted to 968.3

million USD and increased, compared to the same period in 2017, by 14.8%, which

is 10.3% of total exports. Of the export structure of textile products, the main share

is cotton yarn (57.3%), finished knitwear and garments (22.4%). Since the

beginning of the year, more than 320 types of goods have been exported to 55

countries of the world.

In January-September of the current year, the volume of imports amounted to

13 677,1 million USD (growth rate - 33.3%). In the structure of imports, the main

share is occupied by machinery and equipment (40.7%), chemical products and

products from it (13.3%), as well as food products (8.7%).

The volume of imports of services amounted to 1,657.6 million USD,

or 12.1% of total imports and, compared to the same period last year, increased by

21.5%.

Transport services, tourism services, as well as telecommunications,

information, computer and construction services account for the bulk of imports

of services.

In January-September 2018, goods and services from 156 countries were

imported into the republic.

5 major partner countries (the Russian Federation, the People's Republic

of China, the Republic of Korea, Kazakhstan and Turkey) in the total volume of

Dynamics of imports of goods and services in 2018 (month, million USD)

At the same time, it should be noted that over the past period of 2018,

in September, imports were more than in the other months. In September than

in August the volume of imports of goods and services decreased by 207.3 million

dollars, and amounted to 1,656.9 million dollars.
