AccountsBelow is a brief description of all the accounts you’ll use as a Marian student and how to access them. The same email/username/password may be used for access. Detailed instructions are available on the following pages.

MyMarian Used for: accessing up-to-date announcements, resources, services, and office

information. How to Access: https://my.marianuniversity.edu

Marian Email Used for: communicating with other students, staff, faculty; access Cloud Storage,

OneDrive, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and other programs. It is your responsibility to stay up-to-date by checking your email daily.

How to Access: Log into MyMarian, click Check E-mail, or you can go directly to the Office 365 web address https://login.microsoftonline.com/.

SabreNet Used for: checking class availability, register for classes online, check grades, make

online payments How to Access: Log into MyMarian, click SabreNet, or you can go directly to the SabreNet

web address https://sabrenet.marianuniversity.edu/SelfService/Home.aspx

Marian Online 2 Used for: accessing online portions of your class, however you will not be able to see

classes until your professor/instructor activates the online portion. How to Access: Log into MyMarian, click Marian Online 2, or you can go directly to the

Marian Online 2 web address http://online2.marianuniversity.edu/

Ellucian Go Used for: accessing grades, class schedule, calendar, athletics, maps, bookstore,

etc… How to Access: Download Ellucian Go from your app store (iTunes, Google Play Store,

or Amazon)

Off-Campus Library Used for: accessing the Cardinal Meyer Library databases How to Access: Go to MyMarian, click Library Web Page, or you can go directly to the

Library web address http://www.marianuniversity.edu/library/

Portal GuardPortal Guard allows you to change, update, or unlock your password to all of your Marian accounts at any time. This service is available 24 hours per day.

Since you’re new to Portal Guard, you will need to begin by enrolling your Marian Account information.

1. Login to MyMarian at https://my.marianuniversity.edu2. Click the “Forgot Password” link.

3. Enter your Marian username, do not use @marianuniversity.edu4. Enter your initial password5. Click Login

6. Verify your username and password have been entered correctlyAfter completing the enrollment process, you’ll be given the opportunity to change your password. Click Show Password box to confirm accurate entry.

7. You will be prompted to choose 5 out of 10 questions and enter your personal answers. All answers must be a minimum of 4 characters. You may want to write down your answers for future reference.

8. Click Continue after you’ve answered 5 questions.

9. When the screen below appears, you know you have successfully enrolled in Portal

Guard.10. Click “Click here to try to continue logging in”

11. Enter an alternate email to assist with unlocking your account in the future. Complete the required information and click Continue.

12. You will then receive a text with a one-time password. Enter the series of numbers then click Continue.

13. A box will appear to tell you the action was successful.

14. Create a new password. Passwords must be between 8-20 characters and include a lower-case letter, upper-case letter, a number, and a symbol. Type your new password twice, then click “Set Password”.

15. Write down your password somewhere safe and confidential. Remember: your password is case sensitive so write it down EXACTLY as you have typed it. When you reach the following screen, you have completed the Portal Guard enrollment process.

MyMarianLog into MyMarian frequently to see announcements that are specifically for you.

1. To access your MyMarian webpage, go to https://my.marianuniversity.edu.2. Click “Sign In”

a. If on-campus, only your username is needed.b. If off-campus, you will need to type in your full email address.

EmailYou may access your Marian email via Outlook/Office 365.Marian University email is the official email for all Marian University business, including contact with your professors. Other email clients (Gmail, Yahoo, etc…) may be blocked by our spam filter.

1. Sign in to MyMarian as instructed on the previous page.2. Click “Check E-mail” where you’ll be directed to a login screen to access your

Outlook/Office 365 email account.3. Enter your full email address and password

Logging into Office 365 will allow access to Office Online which includes a variety of applications including: Cloud storage, OneDrive, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc…

OneDrive isa place to store your word documents and other files. Only you can see files when you store them in OneDrive, but you have the option of sharing them with faculty or students. Access them from any internet-connected computer or mobile device. Your files are kept safe in the cloud. Further instructions regarding Office 365 apps are available on the MyMarian Academic Technology page.

SabreNetCheck class availability, register online, check grades, or make online payments.

1. Sign in to MyMarian.2. SabreNet is listed on the left side of the page or under the Academics tab.

3. The SabreNet login screen will require your user name and password to protect you and your system information from unwanted intrusions (no need to enter @marianuniversity.edu).

Marian Online 2Check class availability, register online, check grades, or make online payments.

1. Sign in to MyMarian.2. Marian Online 2 is listed on the left side of the page.

3. Log in with your username and password (no @marianuniversity.edu needed). Your Marian Online 2 account is active, but you won’t be able to see or enter any online courses until classes begin and your professors have activated the online portions. Check with your individual instructors to find out when your classes will be available.

4. After logging in, click on the Student Tutorial link and register for training.

Ellucian Go1. Download this mobile app from your app store (iTunes, Google Play, Amazon). 2. Open the downloaded app.3. Select a school by scrolling through the alphabetized list or by typing Marian in the

search engine.

4. Sign in with your Marian login and password. You will remain logged in until you click Sign Out.

Off-Campus Library AccessAccess the Cardinal Meyer Library resources such as databases and ebooks.

1. Sign in to MyMarian.

2. Click Library Web Page on the right side of the page.3. Choose any resource material to get you to the Login screen.

4. Click Sign In

5. The first time using this site, you will need to Create an new Account

6. When asked to create a username and password, you may enter your MyMarian credentials.

Marian Wi-Fi1. Go the the Network and Sharing center on your device.2. Click on the “Marian” wireless network.3. Click Connect, a notification will appear to log in to the Marian network.

4. Click on the notification, a blue box will appear.5. Type your Marian username and password.6. Click Login

Computer ResponsibilitiesIn order to better serve you, Marian University’s Help Desk has the following rules for students with regard to working on your personal computer. Please read them carefully.

It is your responsibility to keep your computer virus-free and spyware-free. If you do not have current anti-virus software on your computer, please go to http://microsoft.com, click Security and then click Protect to download the free security software. For Apple products, users need to download a free version at http://www.sophos.com/en-us/products/free-tools/sophos-antivirus-for-mac-home-edition.aspx

To verify your computer is spyware free, visit http://microsoft.com, click Security, then click Fix for a safety scan.

It is your responsibility to keep your computer’s software up to date. If you are using Microsoft software on your computer, visit http://microsoft.com, click Download and then click Updates. Follow the instructions for access to updates that are important for keeping your Microsoft software running as smoothly and accurately as possible. For Apple products, users may ensure an up-to-date system by visiting http://www.apple.com/support . For all other software, please visit the manufacturers’ website.

We recommend using Windows 7 or 8 and Office 2013 or later.  Upgrades to Windows may be purchased at a significant discount by signing into MyMarian, select Office of Information Technology Services, then click the link to JourneyEd Software on the left-hand side of the page.  Once on the website select “Marian University.”  As a student at Marian University you have access to Office 365, and as a part of that access, you have the ability to download the most recent version of Office onto 5 computers.  From MyMarian, click on “Check Email,” log in using your Marian email address and password.

Public computers are available for all Marian students and located in the Student Center, Common Grounds, and the Library. Wireless hot spots are located in all common areas as well as the library to access while on campus. Choose Marian for the network and login to the captive portal with your Marian login and password.

Resident StudentsEvery Residence Hall room may access internet via a wired or wireless connection. Wired connections require a network cable connected to the blue wall jack in the room. A wired connection is recommended for game systems. To use a video game console or DVR device, the console’s MAC address must be registered by logging into MyMarian, click on the Office of Information Technology, then click Game Console Registration on the left-hand side and complete the form.

Please note: All computers must be current with software updates and anti-virus software in order to access the internet.
