MYSA is in the process of updating its registration and soccer management system in partnership with Affinity Sports. Changes in processes will be reflected in many of the practices that MYSA leagues have relayed on for years.

Please be patient during this season while we role out the new system which will inevitably benefit all members.

As an example, here is a new team code format:

The 2016 Fall State Championships event will be played in Rochester Minnesota on October 15 and 16th. A two game or three game format is guaranteed to play into a championship game for each age and level.

Teams have to “opt in” or RSVP interest by responding to an official invite on or about September 29th.

Risk Management

MYSA recommends that each team has two registered adults at every game, practice, etc.

Do not leave any one child/player alone.

Player protection guidelines www.mnyouthsoccer.org Quick Links>Forms/Rules/Policies>Risk Management.

Each coach, assistant coach, team manager, club officer, etc. must register for an online criminal background check each soccer year (Sept 1 – Aug 31). Clubs provide information for any adult needing a background check in order to work with teams or players. This process can take time, so if you are adding a coach or manager, do so well in advance.

Questions regarding Concussion training should be directed to your club

Cold, hot or severe weather can change a game, shorten halves, adjust uniform rules or create a need to reschedule.

At a game site, referees have all final decision to implement weather policy rules. Referees can also call league games before or during the match.

Facility managers or facility policy can also over rule MYSA rules and referees including the possibility to require a game to be cancelled or rescheduled (such as flooding or dangerous conditions).
