At the very heart of SOUL lie the personal impressions and shared experiences gained over
decades of travelling. The combined results sprung from years of roaming the world, both my
own and my staff ’s at SOUL. We decided to bring the magic of them together into a collection of
furniture styles that would remind us of the journeys we made and the places we love so much.
The journey may be the reward but you have to start from somewhere, and home is where we set
out on our travels and return with our experiences. It is here we gather strength and find peace,
enjoy the day and dream of tomorrow. It is this feeling that SOUL wishes to convey.
Home is where the heart is – and the SOUL.

WE WOULD LIKE TO INVITE YOU TO EXPERIENCE SOUL.
It is our lifestyle brand that comprises entire living rooms: from stylish
classic lamps to distinctive solid wooden furniture, from the crisply
made upholstered furniture to our range of exquisite rugs that tie each
and every room together – we even lavish attention on the smallest of
decorations. SOUL consists of meticulously handpicked individual
products that make up an excitingly complete composition.
We decided early on that the SOUL furniture needed to convey that
most important of feelings, the feel of authenticity. They have been
crafted with the simple but essential idea - that genuinely good furniture
lasts and can be shared by generations. Although the collection consists
of meticulously handpicked individual products, they also share another
common bond: the furniture in each style all fit beautifully together.
We carefully combined all the different parts so as to complement each
other and make up a harmonious whole - to give that genuine, friendly
buttoned down attitude that should make you feel right at home.

4 SIMPLE STEPS TO CHOOSINGTHE PERFECT RUG
Overwhelmed by rules and guidelines or feeling blank as a canvas?
Choosing the right rug is not always easy. But let’s look at our best ideas
for finding a rug that can lift your room to the next level.
23
STYLEThe most important factor to consider when choosing a rug is setting
the starting point from your own personal style. You may not think
about it, but you know your style better than anyone else, so go on and
trust your instincts! Choosing a rug that you’ll love for ages and not
depending on trends is a great way of enjoying your carpet not only
today but also tomorrow. In the end, it all comes down to finding a rug
that fits your personal style and your specific home and needs.
SOLID OR PATTERNWhen choosing a plain or patterned rug, first take a quick inventory
of the interiors and existing color scheme in your room. If you already
have a lot of color and pattern going on in your space, you’ll may want
to tie the look of the room together with a single-colored rug or a pat-
terned in neutral shades which complements your existing furnish-
ings. But on the other hand, don’t play it too safe! An interesting pat-
tern in bold colors or a rug in a stronger color tone can be the feature
that makes your room pop and stand out! Why not add accessories
such as a vase, artwork or a lamp in a color picked from the pattern?
Adding a couple of cushions in complimentary colors will give your
room a cosy and lived-in homely atmosphere.
TEXTURESWhen choosing the texture of your rug, think about where you’ll be
using it. Is it going to add softness to your livingroom or will it be used
under the dining table?
Put the functionality first and you will never be disappointed, but re-
member to step out of your comfort zone from time to time.
A room with a mix of different textures feels rich and layered so adding
a soft and cosy rug to a stylish sleek livingroom can be a ”wow”-factor.
Or why not put a thinner more minimalistic rug next to a sofa filled
with fluffy cushions? Aiming for contrasts is a key.
SIZELast but not least, the most important step to making a carpet work
for you is the size. Most people buy rugs that are too small for their
space. A golden rule to apply when it comes to interior design; don’t
be afraid to go all in! When deciding on a rug for your livingroom, re-
member to make a statement! Choosing a carpet that is big enough
to fit all furniture on it will tie your room together nicely. Front-legs
only is a good and common compromise. This way, when sitting in an
armchair or sofa your feet are on fabric and not floor, which makes
the room feel well-planned and in harmony. When placing a rug that’s
properly sized for a dining room, it will be large enough to pull the
chairs back and have them still sitting on the rug. Starting by measur-
ing the area where you’ll be placing your rug is great. This way you can
select a minimum and maximum optimal size when going shopping
for a rug. A trick to easily visualize how it will look is to tape the area
to the size of the rug you’re considering. It shows in an instant how it
works with your furniture.
Happy decorating!

FOCUS ON FUNCTIONALITY AND YOU WILL ALWAYS GET IT RIGHT
Bring onthe lights
Lamplover or not; Lamps are the ultimate solution to finish off a great interior
and perfecting an atmosphere. Just like jewelry: they’re not the main act,
but they can (and will) make or break your well-planned space.
Without proper lighting, even the most stylish space isn’t truly complete.
Finding the ideal combination of form, function and totality is key.
Here’s how:
29
FUNCTIONALITYLux, Lumen or Watt, don’t make the task more difficult than it is!
Focus instead on how you will use the lamp and all your answers will
fall into place by themselves. So when choosing a lamp for your se-
lected space, think about the primary function of your lamp. In the
process of determine the type of lamp you want; asking yourself if you
need a table lamp, hanging lantern or a floor lamp may be easy. But go
a step further and reflect over your lighting needs. Do you need mood
lighting, a spot for reading or is the lamp going to be purely a decora-
tive lighting solution? For a reading lamp a brighter bulb with directed
light is the best option, but for a beautiful mood lamp on a chest of
drawers a homely glow with a dimmer can work wonders.
Go on and explore!
TOTALITYWhen it comes to lighting solutions in a home, every room needs
a combination of general lighting, task lighting and accent lighting
to set a mood and provide sufficient illumination. The best way of
achieving this is to draw up a lighting plan. So let’s get a pencil and a
paper and start – first draw the main furniture in the room then place
circles where you need good light. The more the merrier!
Remember; it’s very rare that you have all lamps lit at the same time.
So going through the day/evening routines in your mind is a great way
of finding your lighting needs. Maybe a good task lamp in the ward-
robe on a dark winter morning is luxury. Not to mention what a mood
light next to the tv can bring for comfort to your eyes – softening the
light of the screen. When cleaning a good general lighting is the best
choice. Make it fun – explore your home and life and add some bright-
ness!
FORMFORM – this is the easy part! Buy a lamp you love and make it a state-
ment. Choose from contemporary, modern or traditional designs in
abundance; an architectural piece, a sleek designers item, a lamp you
can change shade on for years. But let’s bring some basic thoughts as
well; based on where your lamp will live, remember to calculate the
size. Trusting your eyes visual estimate in a shop can be a disappoint-
ing surprise when fitting the lamp. Measuring the area your lamp is
going in is a good policy.
Happy Lighting!
