Enhanced performance and efficiencyCutting-edge production facilities and industry-leading technology ensure that the Trina Solar mo-dules are among the most efficient on the market. In the year 2011 the company achieved conver-sion efficiency rates of 19.6 % for polycrystalline and 19.9 % für monocrystalline cells.

On all monocrystalline and polycrystalline solar modules Trina Solar guarantees a positive output tolerance of 0 to +3 %. In other words, the actual output of the solar module exceeds the indicated nominal output by up to 3 %, while as a minimum meeting the nominal output level.

Featuring the innovative Comax or Quadmax technology, the Trina Solar monocrystalline modules offer the best €/kWh value under the sun in the output range between 185 and 210 W.

The Comax solutionThe optimised corners of the cells enlarge the energy generating surface by 4.2 %, which achieves maximum energy conversion efficiency of 15.2 %. In addition each cell now has 54 gridlines on the top surface instead of 50, which improves energy flow and increases power output to 195 W. The modules can be applied anywhere, from residential housing via large-scale commercial rooftop installations right across to solar parks.

The Quadmax solutionAn improved production process has been developed for the manufacture of the square mono cells. Thanks to a specially designed metallisation and passivation process the cell structure has been optimised to achieve a cell output level of up to 18.8 %. With four corners instead of eight the shape of the cell enables an increase in output of up to 10 % and a module energy conversion rate of up to 16.4 %, because more sunlight can be captured while at the same time avoiding the typical surface area loss. The Quadmax cell technology is therefore ideal for rooftop areas and domestic installations in which an optimum relationship between energy yield and surface area combined with visually attractive features are the main considerations.

THE MULTI SERIES

In the output range between 225 and 290 W the Trina Solar polycrystalline modules are among the most popular vertical and adaptable modules for large-scale installations.

The universal solutionIn the output range between 225 and 245 W the TSM-PC05 and TSM-PC05.08 modules are currently the most popular. Because of their versatility and adaptability they are ideal for large-scale installations, in particular for commercial rooftop and solar park facilities.

The solution for large-scale installationsWith an output range from 270 to 290 W these modules are the ideal solution for a large-scale in-stallations in particular. Like all other modules in the Trina Solar portfolio the TSM-PC14 also provides peak quality and performance.

MULTI SERIES – HONEY TECHNOLOGY

The Honey modules are the most efficient and powerful in their class. Developed on the basis of the latest technology, the Honey cells provide higher energy conversion level and world record output at an affordable price. Peak output of 274 W was measured in the laboratory in a 60-cell module featuring 156 x 156 mm sized Honey cells. These results were confirmed by TÜV Rheinland in September 2011.

The Honey cell is the product of an entire series of technological advances. Thanks to thinner bus bars the surface area of the solar cells becomes larger, which reduces resistance and enables the cells to produce more energy. In addition, advanced surface structuring methods enable enlarge-ment of the cell surfaces, allowing them to capture more light. At the same time reflection has been reduced to 4 % instead of the standard 30 %. This has enabled us to improve cell performance levels by 0.3 to 0.5 %.
