Greetings Friends!
Sudbury is a relatively large city and many residents living in outlying
communities like Levack and Onaping feel that their voices are not
being heard. Let me assure all my friends in Levack and Onaping
that we ARE being noticed by Council. Our voices ARE being heard.
If residents want Council to be aware of something pertaining to OUR
communities, I make Council aware! If you have a concern or a
question, please contact me!

Recently, local residents were asked to
submit photos of their favourite spots from
around Onaping Falls, which would then be
voted on by the public.
5 photos were to be selected to be turned into
postcards to be sold locally. There were so
many awesome submissions from local youth
that we decided to create an extra winner
from the kids' photos. Then 2 adults
submissions tied for 5th place, bringing us to
a grand total of 7 beautiful pictures to be
turned into postcards by the Onaping Falls
Recreation Committee.
They will make their debut at Falls Fest, and
will be sold individually for $2 each, or in a
commemorative pack of all 7 for $10. This will
be a yearly contest, so be sure to remember
us when you are out shooting our beautiful
town!
All proceeds from the sales will go towards
local programming through the OFRC.

Wait . . . What?
This column and another one in the basement
below, have been there since January. Apparently,
the beams are only temporary. An annual inspection
of the building indicated that one of the outside
columns needs to be replaced so the wooden beams
were put in place until a steel beam could be
installed. The beam is already in the City’s budget so it will be
replaced. However, no timeline has been announced. All other
beams in the building were inspected and found to be sound.
They’re Here!

X Marks The Spots
Have you noticed these? I’ve located three of
them. I saw them on a rock coming into
Dowling, on the first median island coming
into Onaping across from the entrance to the
ski hill and on the sidewalk on the bridge
between Onaping and Levack.
I thought that maybe they were marks so the planes would know
where to drop the bombs but I was assured by the City that they are
marks for aerial mapping—photogrammetry!
