Dear Brothers/Sisters,I am very happy to inform you that it hadbeen decided to take out “Swastik”bulletin (quarterly) to appraise themembers donors/subscribers/sponsorsabout the activities undertaken by variousbranches of Red Swastik Society.The Governing Council expresses agreat satisfaction towards the positivedirection by some of the branches withthe dynamic leadership, however, someof the branches need to take little moreinitiative to activate them.We must not forget that we are pursuingtwofold tasks. One is to promote theoriental symbol “Swastik” in health sectorat the International level and another is
to reach out the needy and neglectedclass of the society. We expect the zealand dedication to pursue and achieve theabove tasks.You would agree that many of ourmembers have tremendous potentialsand some of them are the institutions inthemselves individually, such potentialscan be explored for the growth of theorganization and to make a better worldaround us. Each of the leader of theorganisation shall try to use theirexperience and acquaintances whilepursuing the social work under thisbanner.We express, sincere gratitude to theinchange of branches, those who havedone commendable work during thecritical situation may it be deluge inMumbai - adjoining districts, and various
parts of Maharashtra, namely Sangli,Kolhapur, Nanded Parbhani, Gujarat,Madhya Pradesh and Bihar in July andAugust 2005.We also express, sincere gratitude tothose organizations and doners whohave supported the cause while handlingabove emergencies.The present issue is bearing informationfrom January 2005 to August 2005.You are requested to put forward youropinions/suggestions for theimprovement of the organisation and itsservices to the needy.Let us resolve to provide the betterservices to the needy in the comingquarters.

ASRAAmbulance services for railway accidents
On an average 60 lakh people of Mumbai and its satellite towns commute by local railways everyday and about 30 commuters suffereveryday due to major or minor accidents. To save precious human lives 10 ambulances are deployed at important railway stationsexclusively to attend the accident victims in the limits of Mumbai, as a pilot project in association with Railway and railway policeauthorities.
