This is especially true in the way we worship. To assist you in joining us today, here are some verses explaining what we have learned. Why do we lift our hands? Psalms 134:2 “Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the Lord.” Why do we clap our hands? Psalms 47:1 “Oh clap your hands, all ye peoples! Shout to God with the voice of triumph!” Why do we sing choruses as well as hymns? Bring A Friend Weekend!Parents of kindergarteners through fifth graders: October 6 and 7, is “Bring a Friend Weekend!” Help us share Jesus with kids by encouraging your child to bring a friend next week!

King’s KidsOctober is the month for our annual King’s Kid’s party. The event starts at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, October 31. We are looking for volunteers to serve and use this opportunity to be a blessing to our children. Parents can not accompany children during activities unless you sign up and become an approved children’s minister. If you are interested, sign up at the Information Center and pick up a packet. Adopt-A-Student Come by the L:MC booth in the foyer to Adopt-A-Student the weekend of September 29. The only requirements are to pray for your student and be an encouragement to them throughout the year.

Open House for Nicaragua Missions TripGrace Outreach Center, in partnership with Zoya Ministries, will host an open house on Friday, October 5, at 7:30 pm in the Administration Building. We will discuss highlights from our recent mission trip to Nicaragua. We will also share our plans for our 2008 Medical Mission Trip to Nigeria: Touching a Village, Reaching a Nation and Expanding the Kingdom. Children’s MinistryChildren’s Church Next week is Bring a Friend Weekend! We are memorizing the twenty-seven New Testament books. Today we learned the general letters, Hebrews through Jude, and the prophecy book, Revelation. Hey kids, memorize all 27 books in order.

Youth MinistryElementStudent Impact is taking a look at some of the fundamental characteristics a Christian should possess. Next week is Earth: Reaching people, changing the world.

Young AdultsRestoredJoin us every Saturday evening for Reality Church. This month’s series emphasizes God’s plan for spiritual restoration in our lives. As part of our series, we are literally restoring the home of a family in Plano. We still need volunteers to help with this project, so sign up this weekend! Reality Church meets Saturdays at 6:30 pm in the Chapel.

Do You Love the 80’s?MPEG is a Bible study for young adults that meet every Saturday evening at 5:30 pm (before Reality Church), and Sunday mornings at 9:15 am. Join us this week for MPEG Loves the 80’s, a series on Christian living taught through your favorite 80’s TV shows, music and movies. This weekend, we are playing Let’s Make A Deal!
