u The Hershey Food Bank is 100% run by volunteers.

u Derry Township has 9.3% residents below the poverty level (2010 Census data).

u The Hershey Food Bank has been providing services to Derry Township residents for more than 45 years.

u The new Hershey Food Bank has private space for interviews and counseling.

u The new facility has increased food storage, refrigeration and freezer space providing flexibility to accept and store healthy perishable foods.

ORGANIZE A FOOD DRIVEOrganize a neighborhood food drive to benefit the Hershey Food Bank.

DONATE FOODFood may be dropped off in the bins outside the building at any time, or in person on Mondays and Wednesdays 2:00-5:00. Please coordinate large volume or highly perishable donations ahead of time with the food bank.

u Request non-perishable food items instead of gifts at your children’s birthday parties.

u Request donations to the Hershey Food Bank instead of Holiday gifts.

u Create a raffle at work or school where the price of a raffle ticket is a can of food.

Hershey Food Bank and Community Outreach is an all volunteer 501 (c) (3) charitable organization. Our board oversees the operations and maintenance of the Hershey Food Bank located at 120 East Derry Road, Hershey Pa, 17033. The Food Bank collects and distributes food, paper products and personal care items several times a month, and also prepares food baskets at Thanksgiving and Christmas to families identified and referred from churches, schools and others as being in need. Christmas presents and gift certificates for children’s clothing are included with the Christmas food baskets.

We also provide budgeting counseling, job opportunities information, emergency financial, housing and utility assistance, one-time transient assistance, and information and referrals to other state, local agencies and non-profits, and ongoing client contact.
