From the President’s Desk… Dear Members, Greetings from Chandigarh Management Association! It gives me immense pleasure in presenting the July 2018 issue of Spandan – the CMA eNewsletter. It is indeed an honour to serve CMA as its President. We started this year with the Executive Committee(EC) meeting on July 13, 2018 where in the road map and events to be covered were discussed with the EC members and past presidents. Further in pursuance to our commitment we had an interactive session on July 19, 2018 with Australian delegation from Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne and EON reality INC California. On July 21, 2018 CMA held a talk on “Challenges before Administration” by Mr. Lalit Jain, IAS Deputy Commissioner, Sirmor (HP) wherein the role of administration and challenges faced by it during the implementation stage was explained. On July 29, 2018 we conducted a session on “Rule of Law and Positive Attitude” at PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chandigarh where Prof. Paramjit S Jaswal, Vice Chancellor RGNL University and Dr. Balram Gupta, Director, Judicial academy Chandigarh were the key note speakers. I am very happy to share that the CMA member strength is now more than 500 members, and am sure that with the cooperation of you all, CMA team shall further strengthen its foundation and footprint.I look forward in seeing your active participation in future too.

Deepak Kumar Dhingra, President CMA (2017-18) handed over the charge of CMA to Lalit Bajaj, President CMA (2018-19) at its EC meeting, held at Lions Club, Sector 18, Chandigarh on June 30, 2018. The entire new team of Office Bearers of the CMA Executive Commitee was present on this occasion.

Challenges before the Administration Talk by Sh. Lalit Jain, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Sirmour (HP) The talk covered expectations of the people from the administration and what challenges administration has to face in fulfilling their expectations.The talk was an eye opener as the speaker explained about the challenges faced by the administration in implementaing the same and coming up to the expectations of the people. Over 45 CMA members participated in the event which was held at Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology Mohali.

Past Presidents’ Council Meet CMA’s Past Presidents’ Council Meet for the Year 2018-19 CMA’s Past Presidents Council meet was held on July 13, 2018 at Hotel Metro, Chandigarh. In this meet, the roadmap and projects to be covered during the year, were explained by the CMA President. It was advised that this year we should focus towards quality based projects as against quantity of projects to be covered.

Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality Interactive session with Australian Delegation from Melbourne. An Interactive session on ‘Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality’ was conducted with the Australian Delegation from Swinburne University of Technology Melbourne at Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology Mohali on July 19, 2018. Members of CMA and EON Reality Inc. California shared their thoughts. Dr Ambrish Kulkarni from Swinburne University and S. Akhand Pratap Singh Business Development Manager EON Reality also interacted with the members. Around 40 CMA members participated in this event.

Rule of Law and Positive Attitude Talk by Prof. Dr. Paramjit.S.Jaswal, Vice Chancellor, Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law,Patiala (Punjab) and Dr Balram K Gupta Director Judicial Academy Chandigarh. An interactive session on Rule of Law and Positive Attitude was conducted on July 29, 2018 at PHD Chambers of Commerce, Sector 31,Chandigarh. In this session the speakers, with their vast experience, explained how we take pleasure in breaking the law and use it as per convenience. Legal luminaries urged every one to respect the law and show positive attitude towards the law of the country, expalaining that laws of the state are for the benefit of the citizens. More than 100 CMA members and guests attended this event.

Mr. Lalit Kumar Bajaj with a degree in Chemical Engineering and advanced course in Polymer Technology and with PG Diploma in Personnel Management and Labour Laws, is a Sales & Marketing Strategist with two decades of experience in Forecasting & Demand Analysis, Product Management, Market Penetration, Pricing and Sales & Distribution Strategies &tactics to achieve business results. He is a socially active leader contributing to community development through his associations with organizations as Lions Club Chandigarh, RWA Manimajra, National Human Rights Council and International Human Rights Council Chandigarh, etc.

Prof. JPS Nindra is an astute individual with over thirty five years of experience in teaching. While heading the Department of Political Science & sharing the responsibility as Chief Advisor Student Council, Advisor Foreign students and Member board of studies, he had regular association with students for over three (3) decades. Today majority of his students are holding top positions in Politics, Civil and Police services and many amongst them are sitting judges of various High Courts including Punjab and Haryana High Court. Post retirement, Prof. Nindra is actively associated with a number of institutions in the Tri-city in the capacity of an Advisor & Counselor.
