During the course of it's creation, international artist Tom Noll is offering up his 28" x 40" oil painting of blues legend Stevie Ray Vaughan. For the first time ever, Tom is releasing an original oil painting for auction in an interactive on-line format. While posting the in-progress photos daily during its 10 day run, his collectors will have the opportunity to bid on the original artwork as it takes shape from the attached pencil sketch. Tom is known worldwide for his Art that Rocks print series of famous musicians. With the exception of commissioned artworks, the original portrait masters have not as of yet been offered for sale. Blues legend Stevie Ray Vaughan was chosen as Tom's subject for this portrait because of Stevie's wide critical recognition for his guitar playing and his passionate fan base. After years of alcohol and substance abuse, Stevie cleaned himself up and lived the rest of his life with a deep devotion to his music and sobriety, becoming a solid inspiration to many. 23 yrs ago this August, Stevie was killed in a helicopter crash after a stellar concert at Alpine Valley in East Troy, Wisconsin. He was posthumously inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 2000.
