(UP) — Dur- ing a recent rehearsal of the 115- piece Eastman School of Music Senior Symphony Orchestra, a visitor slipped into the auditorium and listened — for two full hours. When the last strains of the Sho- stakovich Fifth Symphony died away, the visitor approached Dr. Howard Hanson, director of the School and its orchestra, kissed him on both cheeks in true Con- tinental fashion and exclaimed: "Without hesitation, I say this is the greatest student symphony orchestra in the world." And, coming as it did from Dr. Serge Koussevitsky, that was no small feather for Rochester's musical cap. Koussevitsky was in Roches- ter as director of the Boston sym> phony orchestra which appeared in a concert. -V--- ... Officers Elected Registered U. 5. Eastern War Time ot that day, the real estate and mortgaged premises directed in and by said judg- ment to be sold In said Judgement de- scribed as follows: "ALL THAT CERTAIN LOT. PIECE OR PARCEL OF LAND, Fabulous Ice Follies of '44 Coming to Buffalo The fabulous Ice Follie* of 1944 coming to Buffalo Memorial Aud- itorium from Jan. 25th through Jan. 30th — with a matinee and evening performance on Jan. 30th will surpass all previous editons in the magnitude of pieduction, calibre of artists, brilliancy of costumes, originality of music and showmanship and splendor of dec- or and lighting. The Ice Follies of 1944 combines the beauty and gaiety of old France; the fun and frolic of a circus; the color and glamour of the race track; rural comedy, and a spectacle in fantasy of the Orient. Among the notable names who will be welcomed are Betty At- kinson, the California "skating comet", Norah McCarthy, radiant Irish-Canadian star, Eddie Ship- stad and Oscar Johnson, national- ly famous comedians, Roy Ship- stad, the "world's smoothest skat- er", Heinie Brock, the diminutive comedian, the Canadian stars, Os- borne Colson and Fran Claudet, Fapez and Zwack, the "Inttama- tional stylists", the eccentric com- edy sensations, Frick and Frack, The Vanity Fair Trio and Bobby Blake. The 1944 edition of Ice Fol- lies presents artists new to the company, several of whom have international reputations. Among the newcomers is petite Hazel Franklin, the English skating sen- sation and Michael Klrby of Can- ada. Miss Franklin does a solo number and Mr. Kirby teams with Miss McCarthy in two of the most spectacular sequences in the show. Other newcomers are the interna- tional favorites, the Miltons, in a stylized ballroom dance on skates. \ TABLE TOP electric stove, also chem- ical toilet. Student Orchestra Highly Praised by Boston Conductor

Rochester, N. Y. (UP) — During a recent rehearsal of the 115-piece Eastman School of Music Senior Symphony Orchestra, a visitor slipped into the auditorium and listened — for two full hours. When the last strains of the Shostakovich Fifth Symphony died away, the visitor approached Dr. Howard Hanson, director of the School and its orchestra, kissed him on both cheeks in true Continental fashion and exclaimed: "Without hesitation, I say this is the greatest student symphony orchestra in the world." And, coming as it did from Dr. Serge Koussevitsky, that was no small feather for Rochester's musical cap. Koussevitsky was in Rochester as director of the Boston sym> phony orchestra which appeared in a concert.

Fabulous Ice Follies of '44 Coming to Buffalo

The fabulous Ice Follie* of 1944 coming to Buffalo Memorial Auditorium from Jan. 25th through Jan. 30th — with a matinee and evening performance on Jan. 30th will surpass all previous editons in the magnitude of pieduction, calibre of artists, brilliancy of costumes, originality of music and showmanship and splendor of decor and lighting.

The Ice Follies of 1944 combines the beauty and gaiety of old France; the fun and frolic of a circus; the color and glamour of the race track; rural comedy, and a spectacle in fantasy of the Orient.

Among the notable names who will be welcomed are Betty Atkinson, the California "skating comet", Norah McCarthy, radiant Irish-Canadian star, Eddie Ship-stad and Oscar Johnson, nationally famous comedians, Roy Ship-stad, the "world's smoothest skater", Heinie Brock, the diminutive comedian, the Canadian stars, Osborne Colson and Fran Claudet, Fapez and Zwack, the "Inttama-tional stylists", the eccentric comedy sensations, Frick and Frack, The Vanity Fair Trio and Bobby Blake.

The 1944 edition of Ice Follies presents artists new to the company, several of whom have international reputations. Among the newcomers is petite Hazel Franklin, the English skating sensation and Michael Klrby of Canada. Miss Franklin does a solo number and Mr. Kirby teams with Miss McCarthy in two of the most spectacular sequences in the show. Other newcomers are the international favorites, the Miltons, in a stylized ballroom dance on skates. \
