Rystix Timbercare......the story

Market research revealed that consumers were looking forsuperior quality timber coatings able to stand up to the forces ofnature and wear and tear and expected long lasting value formoney products. Rystix Timbacare recognised these needsand in 1992 commenced the development of the RystixTimbacare range.

Rystix South Africa, a company that had been associated withthe timber industry in South Africa since the 1950’s listened towhat the market wanted and developed a superior quality,simple to choose range to meet these needs incorporating theExterior Sealer (Solvent-based), Exterior Armadek (Water-based), Interior Coating (Solvent-based) and Interior Armafloor(Water-based).

Rystix submitted its products to the Council for Scientific andIndustrial Research (CSIR) to run accelerated weathering andwear testing against the best competitive products available onthe market and the test results confirmed that RystixTimbacare products out-performed all their competitors. Fieldtesting in South Africa’s National Parks also led to RystixTimbacare products being specified on superior performance.

Rystix Exterior Sealer is a unique hybridbetween a penetrating oil and a film buildingproduct providing ultra long protection to allexterior timbers. The sealer obtains a deeppenetration into the timber which is the keyinto the timber and the foundation for the filmbuilding process. This unique ability enableslong term treatment solutions for stablehomogenous hardwoods including Teak andIpé as well as all softwoods including WesternRed Cedar used extensively in the claddingindustry. Rystix Exterior Sealer’s ability toprovide an effective coating to these timberswith high natural oil content will only serve toemphasize its superior performance ability onother hard and softwood timbers.
