• The database can store schematicdata for all P&IDs in a project. Thismeans that a complete schematicmodel of the whole project can bedeveloped using Marine Diagrams.

• The schematic model created byMarine Diagrams can be used viathe P&ID 3D Integrator product tobuild the 3D model and checkconsistency between the P&ID dataand the 3D model at any stage indesign development.

• Includes functions for diagrams inthe Piping and HVAC disciplines.

• Marine Diagrams is delivered with a set of shapes called stencils, whichrepresent the most common diagram symbols used in shipbuilding.This is complemented by an intuitive import wizard which provides aneasy way to create your own intelligent stencil shapes. Shapes instencils can have default values, as well as the ability to prompt theuser for values, on selection for use in a diagram.

• Items are automatically and instantly created in the model database asthe diagram is being drafted. These items are in parallel organisedaccording to a System hierarchy as well as a user-defined folderstructure.

• The application supports manual and automatic selection of catalogueitems during diagram drafting, as well as dimensioning of diagramparts. Automatic selection is achieved by using a specification. Thiscapability allows a flexible design process so that it is for instancepossible to start drawing a diagram without a specification, and thenlater apply the specification to the diagram. Thereby the correctcomponents can be selected once the details are available.

• Powerful and easy-to-use resize and respecify functions make itpossible to change the catalogue items associated with a line or itsfittings. This means that the application can automatically select newitems from the catalogue to be associated with the lines and fittings.

• Automatic exchange of symbols through catalogue definition. Thisallows an initial, 'generic' symbol to be replaced by a specific onewhen the catalogue reference is set or changed. Existing symbols canalso be manually exchanged, while retaining connections andattributes.

• Instruments created in the diagram are handled as part of theschematic model and can be managed and reported as other elementsin the database. They can be in line or off line.

• Integrated Microsoft Office Visio drafting canvas offers a feature-richdiagram drafting environment.
