GREEN LIVING: TIPS
GREEN LIVING: REBATES
Cloth nappy and reusable sanitary product rebateCloth nappies and reusable sanitary products are healthier for the environment.
Compost rebateComposting your food scraps is beneficial to your garden as it produces a free, natural fertiliser. It also means that you send less waste to landfill.
Council offers one-off rebates on the purchase of compost bins, worm farms or bio-fermenters. The rebate is open to residents of Casey, with one rebate available for each household.
Rebates are as follows: » Compost bin
$30 rebate » Bio-fermenter
$40 rebate » Worm farm
$50 rebate
Try these tips to reduce your waste and impact on the environment.
RETHINK what you buy and what you throw away.
REFUSE single-use items or things you might
not need.
REUSE what you have and buy items
that can be used again and again.
REPAIR goods instead of throwing them away. Learn by asking family, borrowing materials and
watching videos.
REDUCE your waste by buying what you need,
buying in bulk and storing food properly.
RECYCLE properly by sorting your waste into the correct bin. Close
the loop by purchasing recycled products to
increase demand.
RECONNECT to your local community and
the environment. Spend time in nature and
share food, resources and talents with others.
To encourage their use, Council offers Casey residents one-off rebates on cloth nappies, including swim nappies, reusable wipes and wet bags, and reusable sanitary products, including sanitary pads, sanitary cups and leak-proof underwear.
Each household can receive one rebate per category.
Rebates are as follows: » Cloth nappies 50% of a
purchase up to $150 » Reusable sanitary products
50% of a purchase up to $100
To apply, visit Council’s website and search ‘reduce your waste’. Then, complete the form, upload a photo of the receipt and proof of residence in Casey. Separate applications are required for each rebate. Terms and conditions apply.
Join the Green Living in Casey Facebook group to learn and share knowledge
