Getting started...- Note that Food Processor is only available on campus in the library and computer lab

- Click the icon “Food Processor SQL”

Creating Recipes: Set Up

Opening Screen → Select Recipe

Step 1: Creating Recipes: Set Up- Enter unique recipe name

- Enter number of servings, then hit “OK”

Creating Recipes: Ingredient Selection- Search for ingredient (brand name, descriptive word), select the one that matches

most closely

- Hit “select”

Creating Recipes: Ingredient Selection- Enter quantity (in decimal or fraction)

- Enter measure (ex: cup, oz, lb, serving)

- Repeat for all ingredients

Additional Note: Editing Recipes- You can easily edit your recipes (helpful if nutrient content is off)- Right-click on an item → select Modify Item- Or double-click (left) on the item in the list

Creating Recipes: Finishing Up- Save your recipe

File → Save → Name Recipe → “SAVE”

Create a New Person Profile: Personal- Open → Person → New

- Personal → Name, age, gender (Pregnant), ht, wt

Create a New Person Profile: Recommendations- It is possible to override Food Processor’s macronutrient and micronutrient

recommendations

- When finished hit “OK”

Adding Recipe to Profile- Search for the saved recipe (by the name it was saved under)

- Double click on the recipe

Adding Recipe to Profile- Enter quantity, measure (serving, oz, tablespoon)

- Enter meal type (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack)

- Hit “OK”

- Repeat for all recipes

Viewing Multi Column Report- Select “Multi-Column” from reports

- Check the “Recommended Values” and “Recommended Percents” Boxes

- This report should be included when handing in your assignment (File → Print)

- Note: Reports can also be saved as .pdfs. This can be helpful as the system deletes all

information nightly

Viewing Multi Column Report: Recipe- Multi column reports can also be viewed for individual recipes

- Documents → Select Recipe → Multi-column

Viewing Single Nutrient Report- Helpful when trying to determine what foods are providing a high content of

specific nutrients

- Can use this tool for individual recipes, meals or days

Troubleshooting- Make sure you use the correct oz… fluid oz versus weight oz when entering

measurements - Sometimes recipes come out looking wrong… if this happens go back and double

check your quantities and ingredients selected- If you can’t find the ingredient you are looking for, try rewording your search or

finding something similar, although there are many, food processor is not exhaustive

- Pay attention to abbreviations and brand (cnd = canned, bkd = baked)
