FOLLOW THE YARN AND FIND OUT HOW WOOL IS MADE! 2. SHEARING It’s time for a hair cut! 3. EXPORTING The wool is then packaged, sold and sent overseas. 4. WASHING The wool is ready for a bath! Just add dash of detergent and give it a stir. Look how clean the wool is. 5. CARDING Removes the knots and tangles from the clean wool i.e. sticks and leaves and takes away anything else that is not wool. 6 COMBING Just like combing or brushing your hair, the wool is combed to straighten all the fibres into a long roll. 7. DYEING Wool can be dyed any colour of the rainbow. 8. SPINNING Small fibres of wool are twisted together to make a long and strong rope which is called yarn. 9. WEAVING OR KNITTING A machine joins the yarn together either by weaving or knitting and turns them into clothes. 10. FINAL GARMENT WOW, this wool is so soft! 11. RECYCLING When you have finished with your wool clothing, they can be recycled and made into new ones.
