Our farming background shows us that:

 • Be careful (disasters such as dust bowls are serious lessons)

• Nature promotes growth - so listen & learn

• Support your neighbours and they will support you

• Barter do not batter

• Success will come from your success

• Use the latest technology

Farming mirrors buisiness

How does this affect you

As in agriculture we need to promote growth

• Each farm is unique but aims are common

• Control costs as a penny saved is a penny made

• As in business farmers must also be commercialy motivated

• Use the latest technology (a modern tractor not a cart horse)

• Animals will accept a cut in costs, but not to cut corners

The Parntership Approach

Help your neighbour and she will help you

• Benchmark your costs with local firms (this helps both of you)

• As a generality, if you help others and they will help you

• You must rely on your suppliers and they do rely upon you

• Barter the price down but do not kill off the suppliers

• Remember a good crop will not grow on unfertile ground

Use technology such as the reverse auction

• Any supply can be auctioned when specified correctly…

• A successful auction is a self funded exercise…

• More efficient than traditional tender methods…

• Totally transparent to buyer & seller…

• A secure & confidential process…
