Notice of Approved Boundary Changes

Dear Parents/Guardians: We are pleased to announce that on December 1, 2015 the QCUSD Governing Board approved the attendance boundary changes for the 2016-17 school year. The approved boundary changes are described below:
• Desert Mountain Elementary School (purple) and Queen Creek Elementary School (red) will become the feeder schools into Newell Barney Middle School (purple and red). • gth Grade only students from Gateway Polytechnic Academy (orange) attendance area, all 6th thru gth grade students from the Jack Barnes Elementary School (blue) attendance area, and all 6th thru gth grade students from the
Frances Brandon Pickett (green) attendance area will become the feeder schools/students into the new Middle School, the current QCMS. ( orange, blue, and green).
If you wish to send your student(s) to a QCUSD school outside your home boundaries, you will need to complete an Open Enrollment application. More information regarding Open Enrollment is coming soon. Please understand that if yo child(ren) is accepted for Open Enrollment, you will be solely responsible for transporting your child(ren) to and from school. Transportation is only provided for students within the respective boundaries of their home school.

Congratulations to the recipients of the You Make the Difference Awards by Frances-Brandon Pickett Elementary! For this award, a person is selected from among those eligible, who has dearly demonstrated the outstanding qualities and efforts in making a difference that we look for in our Queen Creek schools.
Sherry Towns, Principal of Frances-Brandon Elementary School, presented the award at the December 1st Board
Meeting where she recognized: Eileen Beverage, Cathi Volante, Helen Litle, and Kim Joynt.
Each month a Queen Creek School will nominate those shining stars who help Make the Difference.

e QCUSD Family Resource Center rollected 9,969 cans of food and other food items this year to help the families in need during this past Thanksgiving Day.
Over 130 food boxes were distributed to the families just for Thanksgiving Day. With the amount of canned food, the Family Resource Center food bank is now ready to help more families for the uproming holidays in the month of December.
Thanks to the partnership and rollaboration of the following schools, dubs, local agencies, faith based organizations, and rommunity members, the Queen Creek Family Resource Center was able to reach its goal:
Queen Creek High School, Queen Creek Middle School, Frances Brandon Pickett Elementary, Jack Barnes Elementary, Queen Creek Elementary, Trilogy Senior Citizens Oub, Heart Cry Church, Queen Creek 4-H group, and the Kratzer Family.
Also, the Family Resource Center would like to thank the students from Queen Creek Migrant Education Program, the Queen Creek Middle School student rouncil members, the Adult Education Program students, and the Kiwanis Club of Queen Creek for helping sorting the food, making food boxes and stocking the canned food in the food bank shelves.

DISCOVERY KIDS is a great program that offers before and after school care for kids at all K-6 sites. They are
state licensed and offer structured activities, including homework help and hands-on learning. Convenient on
site locations eliminate transportation concerns. Programs start at 6:30 am and end at 6:00 pm.
ENRICHMENT CLASSES: C heck out the fun after school enrichment classes offered for our students this
