MIXED USE HOTEL AND RESIDENTIAL TOWER This project comprised an assessment or site and planning constraints, rationalisation of the product mix and yield, interpretation of the hotel functional brief, facade performance analysis, preliminary structural and services coordination, siting and context studies and room and apartment layouts. The final design concept utilised a double skin external facade to provide a clean skin exterior surface, wrapping a diagrid structure.

This project upcycled a 1970’s Commercial Building in a premium position, adjacent Sydney’s Domain Gardens, overlooking the twin spires of St Mary’s Cathedral and onward to the Opera House, Harbour Bridge and Harbour, to one of Sydney’s landmark residential addresses. Surprisingly, the Project converted well from the office building functionality to a quality residential layout. Penthouses at upper floors are uniquely spacious and grand. The project involved detailed appraisal of existing structure, and refurbishment of the existing tower to suit the adjusted use. This project has achieved the highest residential values in Australian history.
