Step 2:1- Rails: Fold the 150 cm x 15 cm sheets into channel shapes 5x5x5 cm to form the 4 Rails (U shape).2- On the Rails each 30 cm long drill a 8 mm hole, 2.5 cm away of edge on both sides of the U shape Rail.

Step 4:4- Footpads: Fold the 20 cm x 15 cm sheet to a channel shape (U shape) 5 cm each side.

Step 6:6- Top pads: Fold the 6 cm x 15 cm sheet to a channel shape (U shape) 5 cm each side.

Step 7:7- Pins: roll a 35 mm x 7 cm and glue it to have a pipe with 7 cm long and 8 mm diameter.8- Make a 8 mm hole 1.5 cm away from the edge of each Rung and in the middle of both sides (let the over lapped side be in the bottom).9- Trim 1.5 cm x 5 cm from the edges of the top side of each Rung (this to enable the move of Rung inside the Rail).10- Cut exactly the middle of each Rung only 3 sides and leave the forth side to work as hinge.11- Although the width of Rungs and Rails are same (5 cm) still you can insert Rungs into Rails, insert Pin to holes of Rung and Rail (leave 1 cm on each end of the pmake 4 cuts along this 1 cm of pin, bend the cuts and glue it to Rail (make sure the none cut side of the Rung facing Bottom).12- Repeat step 12 for all Rungs.

Jayefuusays: Nov 9, 2012. 2:38 PM REPIt certainly looks like a ladder. Do you have a photo of someone standing on it? What stops the legs sliding apart? And if you tread on the treads, what stop

    them breaking?

fungus amungussays: Nov 9, 2012. 4:01 PM REPI doubt it holds much weight, much less than a person. Looks more like a prop.

Jayefuusays: Nov 10, 2012. 1:40 AM REPAhhh OK, I misunderstood :D Skillfully made nonetheless!

chioksays: Nov 9, 2012. 3:56 PM REPThis seems more a "proof of concept" than a working ladder. Though I have seen the same design in a wooden ladder that worked. Lots of hinges.

nilevalleysays: Nov 10, 2012. 1:12 AM REPAlthough this ladder is made of thick paper but still can change to a real working ladder by using proper materials and necessary modifications to easeclosing and secure against slipping and collapsing, thanks for all remarks.

Anodeansays: Nov 9, 2012. 6:18 PM REPThis is a fascinating design - i t folds wonderfully, and does look as though it is theoretically sound. The material you have used, however, appears too lighthold a person's weight. I wonder if this is a working model? I am very curious to try building these components using at least two layers of corrugatedcardboard with a "skin" made of the sort of material you have used here, to strengthen it.Very clever! Thank you for showing this. :D
