TRESCIMO Kick-Off TRESCIMO is a EU project about Testbeds for Reliable Smart City Machine-to-Machine Communication. It started with a Kick-Off Meeting from 13-15 January 2014 in Cape Town. Eight partner organisations including Fraunhofer FOKUS/NGNI and TU Berlin/AV take part in the integrating project under the European Union's Seventh Framework Programme (FP 7). NUBOMEDIA    

NUBOMEDIA Project Start: an elastic Platform as a Service (PaaS) cloud for interactive social multimedia The EU funded project NUBEMEDIA starts in February 2014 and has Fraunhofer FOKUS/NGNI and TU Berlin/AV involved. NUBOMEDIA proposition is to minimize the complexity of infrastructures by creating a specific purpose cloud

platform bringing all the cloud advantages to the arena of real-time interactive multimedia. NUBOMEDIA will be capable of abstracting and managing all the low level details of service deployment, management, and mass-scale exploitation. In addition, this cloud will host interactive multimedia capabilities that shall be exposed through a simple API, so that the complexity of creating applications on top of the cloud is also minimized. Hence, the NUBOMEDIA concept can be synthesized in the following way: NUBOMEDIA is an elastic scalable cloud platform specifically designed for real-time interactive multimedia services, which exposes its capabilities through a simple to use PaaS API.

 

oneM2M Technical Plenary meeting – organized and hosted by Fraunhofer FOKUS in April 7-11, 2014 at Fraunhofer premises in Berlin oneM2M is a Partnership Project, established in order to cooperate in the production of globally applicable, access-independent M2M Service Layer specifications, including Technical Specifications and Technical Reports related to M2M Solutions. oneM2M objective is to produce and maintain globally applicable Technical Specifications and Technical Reports related to M2M Solutions with the initial focus on M2M Service Layer.

Fraunhofer FOKUS is following the oneM2M standardization activities and is planing to evolve the OpenMTC to support oneM2M specification once the oneM2M specifications are available.
