Friendship 27 but was in fact a completely new aircraft

The modern Pratt & Whitney PW125 engine was fitted into the Fokker 50
The propeller was a six bladed Dowty propeller

The wingtips were modified with "foklets“
The ailerons got a aerodynamic curve at the tip
The rudder and the right horizontal stabilizer got a trim surface

There are few examples of air crash involved in usage of Fokker 50.
Location : Melilla, Spain.
Date of Accident : 17th January 2003
Airlines : Air Nostrum/Denim Air
Accident Description : The aircraft, operating as Iberia Regional 8276 from Malaga, overran runway 33 (4,420 ft) while landing at Melilla in heavy winds. 9 passengers sustained injuries -- two seriously as the aircraft crashed into the airport boundary fence and broke into two pieces.

Location : Luxair Niederanven, Luxembourg, German
Date of Accident : 6th November 2002
Airlines : Luxembourg Airlines
Accident Description : The aircraft, on a passenger on a flight from Berlin to Luxembourg-Findel Airport, crashed on a runway 24 while attempting to land in fog. 20 out of 22 occupants were killed.

Location : Tawau, Malaysia
Date of Accident : 15th September 1995
Airlines : Malaysian Airlines
Accident Description : The aircraft crashed short of the runaway while attempting to land. Pilot error.
