Get familiar with your customer’s menu. what’s the “spice blend potential”?

___ check the kitchen. Are spice blends currently on the shelves? Are individual spices being mixed by hand and used where spice blends could be substituted?

know your customer’s operating budget and time concerns.

___ Our spice blends offer consistency in flavor and less product waste. Purchasing blends reduces the number of ingredients needed back of house — and every blend is consistent, time after time, at every unit!

Show the operator that spice blends cost about a penny per serving, turning a regular item into a value-added item. Show the impact!

Share current market trends and menu concepts.

___ Remind them that their customer is more taste savvy, and that they expect more flavor than ever before!

___ Encourage operators to upgrade their menu item names and descriptions, by taking advantage of “romantic” spice blend offerings. Menu Example: Veracruz Steak Fajitas instead of steak fajitas.

Durkee® on the spice rack is a constant billboard.

___ Chefs, on average, walk by the spice rack 67 times per day.

___ Spices are high profile items in any back of house kitchen and are often prominently displayed, keeping them top of mind with operators.

___ Selling high quality spices implies other items you sell are also high quality.

SHELf LifE rEcoMMENDAtioNSThe recommended shelf life of our products is defined as the length of time we believe the product to be at optimal fresh-ness. This does not mean that these products are not usable and safe past this time period; they simply will not be at their maximum freshness. For optimum quality, store un-opened in cool, dry conditions.

Blends typically have a two-year shelf life.
