Even though it seems like August is a long way away, the FOCUS
School Supplies
Collecon has begun and will connue through the last week in
August. We will
gratefully receive all contribuons of new school supplies. A

we collect is below.

ery and Reinvestment Act. Call Senator Schumer 2022246542 and
urge him tosupport S. 1635, the Extend Not Cut Benets ct, A bill to
amend the AmericanRecovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 to extend
the period during which sup-
plemental nutrion assistance program benets are temporarily
increased.Sen-
ator Gillibrand is already a co-sponsor of this bill.

Gardening Projects Invite VolunteersGIAB provides Food Pantry
guests with the
supplies they need to grow veggies at home. We
need your help to assist on site in the pantry,
providing guests with bucket with soil, seedlings,
seed packets, and growing advice. We are also
lining up Gardening in a Bucket for Kids. This is a
combinaon art/gardening event which we take
on the road to family homeless shelters and
other groups. Contact Becca Leet to get involved
(info below).
Gardeners, if you are starng seeds, please con-sider donang some
seedlings to the project.
Donaons of seedlings, seed packets, and other
necessies are most welcome. Monetary dona-
ons will help pay for items we do not have.

oered to provideour collecon and distribuon point in August.
Volunteers will be needed on Aug.
26-29 to sort donaons and distribute them to the children. To
