AMBULATORY SURGERYKristy Dickens is wonderful.

EMERGENCY DEPTDr. Barrett Webb was excellent.

Lorna Lacey, LPN, was excellent in the ER. She was very good with explaining everything to the patients as it happened. She kept me informed of everything.

Dr. Ravi was great, made me feel confident in my treatment he provided taking care of my hand that I cut very bad.

Dr. Ravi was excellent.

HOME HEALTHYou can be very proud to have Pam Compton as a home health care nurse. She was wonderful. So were the occupational & physical therapists.

Shelly Brown has been really good about calling ahead to tell me what time she’ll be here, and she’s always here on time.

Ethel Burchett and Pam Compton went out of their way to help me on a Saturday.

Shelly Brown and Emily Bishop are great. They can take care of me any time. I recommend them highly.

Shelly Brown has kept every one updated on my healing really well.

Ethel Burchett for my first experience was excellent & made me feel comfortable.

Annette Sparks is prompt, polite and professional – she is very good at her job!!

I love my nurse Shirley McVey, she is very good.

Shannon Moore is the best! So nice and I can always reach her if needed.

Nurse Shelly Brown was super!!

INPATIENTI am so thankful for Dr. Burrows. He is the BEST doctor. I am forever grateful for him.

Had a wonderful team working with me! My nurse Robin Donehue was absolutely wonderful with my maternity needs. And my midwife, Franny Meritt was exceptional.

Very impressed with Dr. Steven M. Brown. Request he stay at St. Claire Regional. He was filling in where shorthanded - I believe he saved my life - I was very sick. Please tell him how much he meant to me.

Best experience I ever had in a hospital including St. Claire Regional. Keep up the good work we really need SCR in Morehead. It is my hospital of choice. Thank you - hospital staff, Dr. Steven Brown, nurses, aides, respiratory therapists, cafeteria workers and any others I may have forgotten. Thank you one and all - God bless you for taking such good care of this old girl. Hope I never need to go to hospital again but if I ever do I will be at SCR. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

MEDICAL PRACTICEMolly Carew is wonderful caregiver.

The following comments are from SCR patients that completed our Press Ganey

patient satisfaction surveys in July.

This was the 7th year for Camp SMILE (Sharing Memories in a Loving Environment). St. Claire Regional Hospice in collaboration with the MSU Nursing Program decided to try something different this year --an overnight camp that was held at Camp Judy Layne August 2 through August 4. And, we are so glad we did as it was a huge success! The 30 children in attendance, ages 7-17, arrived at the camp on Friday afternoon and were picked up by their caregivers Sunday morning. The kids participated in therapeutic bereavement activities that focused on healthy coping skills, support systems, stages of grief, feelings associated with grief and acceptance of the loss. In addition to small groups, crafts and games the children were able to participate in activities provided at Camp Judy Layne. Saturday afternoon was dedicated to the children being “survivors” emphasizing that each camper had the ability

First Overnight Camp SMILE is big success!

kimberle Mullins, senior sales representative at sCr family Medical supply volunteered at Camp sMile as a “buddy” to one of the campers. shown in picture: kimberle participating in the teams course with campers.

to overcome challenges and obstacles in life. During this activity kids applied “war paint” and had the opportunity to do archery, climb a large rock wall tower, canoeing and complete an obstacle course. One 9-year-old camper expressed, “How proud Daddy would be that I climbed so high!”At night campers and counselors bonded around campfires, made luminaries and enjoyed S’mores. Children had the opportunity to talk one-on-one as needed with staff and were able to spend time getting to know other children with similar losses. Campers voiced to staff as they left on Sunday how much they had enjoyed the weekend. An 11-year-old boy said, “Talking about all the death stuff is hard, but I already feel better.” For more information on how to support or participate in next year’s Camp SMILE call (606)783-6808.
