The high-security networkfor fire alarm control panels.
SpiderNet technology in the SecuriLan
SecuriFire – so that fire risks leave you cold:
Fully redundant hardware and software design
Modular and decentralised architecture
Data interfaces to the outside and to superordinate systems
Simple planning, programming and operation
Unrivalled flexible networking using SpiderNet technology
Up to 16 SecuriLine eXtended with 3500 elements per control unit
Tested and approved in accordance with EN 54, EN 12094-1, DIN, VDE and many others
In the SecuriFire fire detection system each
control unit operates autonomously. Link-
ing up to 16 control units and up to 31 re-
mote control panels using intelligent Spi-
derNet technology creates a single virtual
overarching control unit. The advantages
of the new SpiderNet technology are obvi-ous: maximum flexibility in system topology,
control of the overall system from any con-
trol panel and centralised status query for
any element. To link up control units on the
SecuriLan, the SpiderNet technology with
its highly secure, redundant design based
on state-of-the-art IP/Ethernet technology
is used.
Maximum fail-safe reliability guaranteed
With SpiderNet technology in the Securi-
Lan all kinds of network types can be imple-
mented: loop-shaped connections, redun-
dant loop-shaped connections, connections
based on the latest IP/Ethernet technology,
and even mesh networks. This means that
a control unit can have up to four connec-
tions to other control units – with each con-
nection implemented in a fully redundant
design. As a result the system achieves hith-
erto unparalleled levels of fail-safe reliability.
Even if a multitude of connections should fail
simultaneously, access to the overall system
by any control unit – and therefore its peri-
pherals – is guaranteed.
New dimensions in data transmissionSpeeds of up to 2.5 Mbit/s are possible
using data transmission via the SecuriLan.
This opens up prospects for new applica-
tions: For instance the firmware of all the
control units in the network can be updated
from any point – while the system is running.
Using synergies with the IT infra-
structure
Thanks to the new SpiderNet technology it
is possible to connect the control units in
the SecuriLan by IP. It means that the fire
protection system can then be directly in-
tegrated into a building’s IT infrastructure.
Various parallel displays or higher-level cen-
tral display devices can make use of the ex-
isting communication paths of PC networks.
The only normative restriction is that the
devices must not be used for alarming the
emergency services.

Remote access by secure means
The SecuriFire fire detection system can be
controlled on site or remotely using a con-
ventional PC. Communication with a Se-
curiFire control unit is via intranet or Inter-
net using the TCP/IP protocol. The control
units communicate among one another us-
ing the highly secure DDCMP (Digital Data
Communications Message Protocol).
A system with a future
The new SpiderNet technology enables the
use of standardised IT components in the
SecuriLan. That means the technology is set
to remain up to date over the long term. And
your investments are secure.
