... There’s plenty to do

What we have achieved so far

The plight of the Neo day care centreThe Neo day care centre in the Orange Farm township was set up in 1993 by Nthabiseng Rompove. The word ‘Neo’ means ‘gift’. With five teachers and a cook, Nthabiseng cur-rently looks after 60 children.

The day care centre is located in a hut made of corrugated iron. From the outside, it still makes a good impression, but the roof leaks when it rains. The outhouse is in a very bad condition. The land is walled in on three sides, but the fourth side is very poorly secured. There is only enough money to cover the bare essentials, but not for educational material or toys. Children have to lie on old carpets on the floor for their afternoon nap. E

You can help to rebuild the Neo day care centre. We need your support!

Thank you very much!

christina LamemiFounder of the Little Princess day care centre.

Your donation makes all the differenceThe costs for the project sum up to 49,000 Swiss francs. By making a direct donation, you can help to build a future for the children at the Neo day care centre. Your support for children in need is greatly appreciated.

Our fundraising goalby 12th September

49,000 CHF

Successful Little Princess project In October 2012, a team from Switzerland rebuilt the Little Princess day care centre. Mama Christina, as she is affectionately known to us, has put her whole heart and soul into her work of a lifetime. She seized the opportunity and has since further expanded the day care centre.

Number of children doubledSince the rebuilding work, the number of children looked after at the centre has doubled in size. She invests all the additional child care benefits she receives back into the day care centre. Together with her husband, she has extended both the kitchen and garden, bought better kitchen utensils and more tables and chairs for the children and replaced the outhouse with a proper toilet. It is a great pleasure to support women with so much initiative through our projects.

For the first time ever, we didn’t have to worry about winter because the day care centre is now a proper house and not a corrugated iron hut. I am extremely grateful for the support received from JAM and I’m very, very happy with the new infrastructure.
