Just like the very first FLYER 20 years ago, our E-bikes today are produced in the heart of the Swiss Mitel-land. Situated among picturesque landscape, Huttwil is the ideal place to become inspired day by day on how to bring mobility and durability into harmony. Besides the high Swiss quality, a FLYER also embodies a fundamental and clear attitude towards the environ-ment. As a logical consequence, this attitude can also be found in the production buildings in Huttwil. The factory was built in 2009 according to the Minergie-P standard (passive construction) and was one of the first to achieve an award by the Minergie association. Thus, the whole concept of our production plant is as resource-saving as our electric bicycles.

Components1 Operating console (Display)

The displays centrally-mounted to the handlebar are removable and are completed with an ergonom-ic operating console. They come with USB support and have a clear and user-friendly design. Both switching between assistance levels and activating the pushing aid as well as retrieving information (average and maximum speed, trip and total kilo-metres, remaining capacity, range) can hardly be easier.

With the Nyon display, you hold the key to a new, uniquely networked e-bike world in your hands. Nyon accompanies you from the planning of your route to the evaluation of your performance,

links you to the online portal www.ebike-connect.com and the smartphone app «eBike Connect» and offers many features to assist you before, during and after your trip. Nyon develops according to your needs: with every new update and optional extra functions, your personal e-bike experience becomes even more versatile.

2 DriveBosch central motorThe Bosch central motor system convinces in the variants Active Line and Performance Line. The Bosch system provides four levels of support. Eco, tour, sport and turbo. Depending on the model, the battery is integrated into the luggage rack or at-tached to the frame. The 36V motor blends harmo-niously into the design of the FLYER. For derallieur systems, the switch recognition enables smooth and low-wear shift into higher gear. In order to per-fectly meet each customer’s needs, the most suita-ble motor system is used for every FLYER. Thus, the specific characteristics of the several concepts can unfold individually.

Central motor by PanasonicThe Panasonic central motor system with central and low centre of gravity guarantees the unique FLYER riding experience. In any case, it has three assistance levels: Eco, standard and high. For some models, it is completed with a fourth level: Auto. In auto-mode, the assistance level adapts automat-ically to the topography, allowing a very efficient way of riding (high assistance for uphill, stand-ard assistance on even terrain, no assistance for downhill). Thanks to the extremely compact and low-noise 36V direct drive, the central motor does not need a motor pinion. Thus, your new FLYER be-comes even more reliable and efficient, it ensures smooth running and best possible efficiency with minimum wear. Appropriately, the 3-sensor concept measures torque, cadence and speed. Those who like it dynamic choose the 350 W «Sporty» variant (only CH).

Pushing/Setting-Off AidThis pushing aid is limited to 6 km/h in the highest gear. The FLYER can comfortably manage its exit from a steep passageway at the touch of a but-ton. This setting-off aid is limited to 20 km/h in the highest gear. The type of installation depends upon country-specific guidelines.

3 BatteryFLYER trusts in reliable original batteries by Pana-sonic and Bosch. All FLYER batteries contain es-pecially developed E-Bike cell types and show the ideal ratio between capacity, performance and op-erating life.

High level of battery security and longevityA battery management system is integrated into the FLYER batteries, protecting the battery against overcharging, undervoltage and overheating. A single cell monitoring system provides safe and healthy charging. As a result the highest possible life expectancy of the FLYER is maintained.

Volt, ampere and watt hoursThe operating voltage of the system is measured in volts (V). The charging level or capacity is ex-pressed in ampere hours (Ah). The energy content and thereby the size of the tank is described in watt hours (Wh).

CompatibilityThe batteries are only compatible within their prod-uct lines.

ChargerEach FLYER is shipped with the correct charger for the included battery. This charger can only be used with the corresponding battery family.

Range – As far as you want.The range depends on many factors. In addition to battery capacity, the selected motor support, the geographical conditions, the road surface and not least the rider’s weight and also the tyre pressure all play a crucial role.

With the help of these manganese lithium-ion bat-teries, especially developed for e-bikes, a maximum of security, capacity and durability in a largest pos-sible range of temperatures is reached. Both with very low and with very high temperatures, in sum-mer and in winter, a sufficient range is guaranteed.

Range with 350 watt motorOn every level approx. 15 % below the respective comparative value with the 250 watt motor.

Range with 18 Ah batteryApprox. 20 % above the respective comparative val-ue with the 15 Ah battery.

5 Saddle

Whether practical hub gears, sportive chain gears or a combination – respective varieties depending on the use are available for every FLYER model. Be-cause of the long-term cooperation with leading gear manufacturers, drive and gears harmonise ex-cellently with each other.

Depending on its use, each FLYER model is equipped with a saddle that is designed for comfort or sport-iness. For optimal well-being, we only use saddles from proven manufacturers.

With the FLYER rims, the rims and complete wheels by DT Swiss and the tyres by Schwalbe, we completely rely on stability, safety, and high quality products that meet our high demands and that have been developed for use with E-bikes.

8 Frame

The high quality, hand-welded aluminium frames consist of hydro-formed tubes. Pipes are laid inside the frame for optimal safety strength. In some models, the design of the frame is visually emphasised with smooth welding.

Thanks to the Speedlifter Twist, the handlebar can be vertically adjusted and/or rotated by 90° in only two steps (no tools required). Thus, you can save space. The ergonomical handlebar grips make tin-gling hands a thing of the past.

The hydraulic rim brakes are suitable for any kind of usage and work perfectly with high loads. The disk brakes fulfil the highest requirements and keep their braking power under regular care. V-brakes are brakes that are easy to maintain and that are perfectly suitable for a folding bike.

11 Suspension fork

Most FLYER bikes are fitted with suspension forks depending upon intended usage. Comfort-oriented models as standard are equipped with back-friendly suspension seat posts.

12 Lights

The high quality LED light systems by Busch and Müller and by Supernova guide you safely through the dark. With the proven daytime light, you are even more visible. The lights can be switched on safely and comfortably via the operating console on the handlebars.

13 Locking system (1 for All)

The battery and the lock mounted to the frame are both locked with the same key. For all locking sys-tems, FLYER trusts in the traditional brand ABUS, who have been developing successful and innova-tive anti-theft protection since 1924.

Safeguard sensor

The incorporated sensor within the folding me-chanism with Pluto prevents the motor system from being switched on when folded. When transporting and carrying the Pluto, this unique function is a considerable advantage for safety.

Rear shock

With the full suspension TX-Series, the cushion ensures a perfectly tuned suspension.
