andinbetween,charminglittlebaysandverymodestlyluxuriousbuildings.SomearereminiscentofGaudi,otherslookasifthey'vebeenimportedfromPalmSpringsof50yearsago.OneisremindedoftheSeychelles,butit'smoreinteresting.Aparadise,orratheratemporaryhomeforwealthyItaliansandFrench.AndforafewdaysfortheMMIG46!Understatement,luxury,natureandseclusionarethekeywordsinthisparadise.The2kmlongislandisownedareadministeredbyaconsortium-AssociationSyndicaleIledeCavallo(ASIC)–whichguaranteessafety,discretionandpeaceandquiet.

Famousnamesdecoratetheisland–CarolineofMonacoissupposedtoownpropertyhere,andthePrinceofNapleslivedhereinexile.It'snothardtounderstandwhyrichandretiringpeoplevaluethiscorneroftheworld.

Nocars(justgolf-carts),nomasstourismandjustonedreamhotel–theHotel&SpadesPecheurs.Ourbeachhotelprovidedusnotjustwithexcellentservice,butalsowithculinarydelightstosatisfygreaterandlessergourmets.

Thisiswherewehadbookedourrooms,allwithbreathtakingviewsofthesea.

Thereusedtobeasmallairfieldonthisisland,butafterparticularpeoplesettledhere,theairfieldwasclosed.Thatexplainspartlywhysomeofourparticipantshadthepleasureofaheli-shuttle.Theotherreasonwasthefactthatonly8aircraftcouldlandinFigariandtheheli-shuttletroupehadtodiverttoAjaccio.ThoseparticipantswhowereallowedtolandinFigariweretakenbytaxiin30minutestothepieratPiantarella.Therethehotelboatwasawaitingthemandtooktheminjust10minutestoIldeCavallo.ThoseparticipantswholandedinAjacciowereflowninjust25minutesbyhelicoptertoourhotelontheislandIldeCavallo.Typeofhelicopter:ÉcureuilHelicopterAS350–for6people.

Wewerewelcomedonourdayofarrivalbyabuffetwithregionaldelicacies.Friday,8thJune2018

Aguidedtouringolfcartsgaveusafirstimpressionofthebeautyoftheisland.Wonderfullyhiddenestatesamongotherthings.Ofcourse,wewereallverydiscrete.ThelastphotoshowsusonthebeachpreferredbyPrincessCaroline.At12:15wesetoffonfootforLeBistroinCavallo'ssmallharbour,justafewstepsfromthehotel.

Here,inadependencyofLaFerme–therestaurantonthehillaboveCavallo–oneiswelllookedafter,soweenjoyedadeliciouslunch.

Intheafternooneverybodycoulddowhatevertheywanted.Somesettleddownonthehotel'sbeach–

setofftoexploreontheirbikes,whileotherschosetostayalittlelongerintheBistro.

At19:15wemetforanaperitifandat20:00itwastimefordinnerinthehotelrestaurant.Saturday,9thJune2018:At10:00wedepartedbyshiptoBonifacio.ThistownisonthesoutherntipofCorsica,highuponthewhitechalkcliffsandis,thankstoitsposition,themostimpressivefortresstownonCorsica.Bonifaciois60mabovetheseaandoffersthemostspectacularviewoftheisland.Theoldtownhousesseemtofloatabovetheabyss.

At13:30weweredrivenintwosmallbusesonnarrowroadstoMaoraBeach–ajet-setmeetingplaceinanidyllicbay.

From14:00therewasareallydeliciousmealand,asyoucansee,lotsoffun!

At16:00ourshipwastoweighitsanchorandtakeusbacktoCavallo.Butbeforethat,peoplehadtobeferriedtotheship.
