Fluoride Regulation Updates
Updates on changes in Davis and Salt Lake Counties
Davis CountyO The Fluoride Regulation was revised
on August 13, 2013 O Training requirements were better
definedO Documentation of training is now
required; to be submitted to the Health Department by January 15 of each year
Salt Lake CountyO The Fluoride Regulation, Regulation
#33, is currently being revisedO There will be a public comment
periodO The revision was done in conjunction
with Davis County
RevisionsO Training
O 6 hour training required for all new operators working in fluoride treatment
O 3 hour biannual refresher training required thereafter
O Davis County – Submit record of training to Davis County
O Salt Lake County – Keep record of training on site to be verified upon request
Revisions continuedO Safe Drinking Water Disclosure Act (SDWDA) also
known as House Bill 72O DDW will discuss in detail
O County responsibilitiesO Keep copies of the original, dated documents used
to obtain the NSF/ANSI Standard 60 certification of the fluoride chemical(s) being used which are obtained from supplier

O Acquire, review, and maintain a batch specific Certificate of Analysis; this must include the “Utah 9”.

O New forms will be created to ensure standardization of reports
