FCRI is a leading premier Fluids Engineering Institute rendering industrial services and solutions. The Flow Centre
at FCRI is a part of National / International standards for flow measurement duly accredited by NABL. Institute
facilities are most comprehensive set of flow engineering and provide a unique resource for industry in India. All
the facilities are available for sponsored R&D programmes and commercial calibration and evaluation.
Strong links with the oil & gas sector, water industry, Power Industry, Process/Manufacturing sector, Automotive
sector, R&D organization etc. have been developed through joint industry projects and by holding regular
seminars, workshops and conferences on topical issues related to flow measurement.
For the past 25 Years FCRI has been extending its services to different sector of Industries Viz. Refineries, Process
& Petrochemical Industries, Flow product manufactures, Water utilities, Power plants, Research & Development
Agencies not only in India but also to customers like General Electrical/General Motors USA for R&D activities
and continues to be the most prestigious Research Institute related to flow products in Asia.
The Institute also undertakes sponsored R & D projects and as of now it has completed more than 120 projects
making it one of the specialized research Institutes and renders authorized / approved technological services
such as consultancy, testing, certification, and training for private and public – sector Organisations. The institute
acts as a National Certifying body for flow measuring systems. It also assists in acquiring quality conformance by
traceable calibration of industry reference devices as per the norms of ISO 9001 series and under takes training
of Industrial Personnel from India and abroad.
FCRI has been empanelled by Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India to impart Training under ITEC / SCAAP /
TCS of Colombo Plan scheme. Under these schemes, professionals and people from developing countries are
offered unique training courses, to empower the participants with not just professional skills, but prepare them for
an increasingly globalized world.
Over the past twenty two years, FCRI has given advanced Training to more than 815 overseas personnel from 82
countries under ITEC/SCAAP/TCS of Colombo Plan schemes sponsored by Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of
India. Our high-tech Technical Training programmes cater to the growing demand of service oriented
professionals. FCRI aims at reaching the mass across the globe by imparting training with updated
methodology. Several Petroleum and Oil & Gas personnel have been benefitted out of our technical training
programmes.

Training or capacity building is one of the major activities under ITEC. The professionals and people from developing countriesare offered unique training courses, both civilian and defence in different centre of excellences in India and Ministry of ExternalAffairs has chosen FCRI to empower the participants with not just professional skills, but prepare them for an increasinglyglobalized world. Training is offered to officials of Government/Semi Government, Public and Private Sectors, Universities,Chambers of commerce etc. under ITEC/SCAAP/Colombo Plan schemes. There is overwhelming response to our various Trainingprogrammes across the globe every year. The technical training programme for foreign nationals first commenced in the year1990 under the Commonwealth Industrial Training and Experience Programme (CITEP). The International training has become aregular feature since November 1995.
The trainees are given in-depth training by way of lectures, lab sessions, project assignments. They are also taken to variousmanufacturing organisations. More than 815 participants from the following 82 countries had undergone training in FCRIsponsored by Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India.

4. General Information
Spoken English Classes: Intensive classes on Spoken English for the benefit of participants is also arranged during theprogramme
Research - Test Facility: In case trainees require calibration of flowmeters / instruments they can bring the same if it ishandy. Opportunity is given to discuss flowmetering problems with FCRI engineers. FCRI will provide necessary services for
calibration / testing / consultancy during their training at nominal charges.
Selection of Participants: Candidates are requested to submit job report based on his study, qualification & experiencewith the application form. The report will be assessed for selection of candidates for the training course.
Seminar: The trainees will be divided into groups and assigned with specific projects of laboratory importance and theywill be required to present their project at the end of the training programme.
Reports: Trainees will be required to submit the following reports during the course of training programme and at the end.1. Report on laboratory exercises2. Project report on selected problem3. Comprehensive training report
4.1 SponsorshipThe Training programmes organised at FCRI are sponsored by Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India underITEC/SCAAP/TCS of Colombo Plan schemes. Details of courses offered are available on the website of concernedIndian Embassies. Those interested have to contact concerned Indian Embassies abroad to apply in the prescribedApplication forms available from Indian Embassies.
4.2 Self Financing SchemeFew seats are reserved under Self Financing Scheme also for those who are unable to get scholarship. Those who areapplying under self –financing scheme have to submit the prescribed application form which is available at FCRIwebsite - www.fcriindia.com. All expenses to be borne by Participants / Sponsoring Organisations.
Course fee (under Self Financing Scheme) : US$ 5000 for 3 months, US$ 4000 for 2 months, US$ 1200 for 6 weeksrespectively. Additional Service Tax as applicable will be levied.
The course fee includes Tuition Fee + Industrial Visits + FCRI Hostel and Food Expenses. The course fee has to be paidin advance to FCRI before the commencement of the course. Pickup and drop at Coimbatore /Kochi / KozhikodeAirport by FCRI. To & Fro travel expenses, Medical and other incidentals are to be borne by the Participants.
How to Apply: Prescribed ITEC/SCAAP application obtainable from concerned Indian embassies must be submitted to thenodal Government Department /Agency of the country designated to nominate candidates. The nodal Department/Agency will in turn forward the applications to the Embassy / High Commission of India.

4.4 Industrial Visits & Sight Seeing
Visits to industries and Sight seeing trips around southern part of India will be arranged during the weekends.Industrial visits include valve manufacturing units, heavy industries, IISc./IIT/IIM and other major industries from publicand private sector. Kerala is the land of exceptional natural beauty. Tucked away within little villages and bustlingtowns, sheltered by the elegant coconut palms, Kerala deserves the name God’s Abode. The major places of visitare Cochin - natural harbour with beautiful backwater, Thekaddy - Wildlife sanctuary, Munnar - Gracious hillstation, Trivandrum - Capital of Kerala, Kovalam - a beautiful beach and Kanyakumari - Southern tip of India.
Places of Interest for Sight seeing in and around Southern Part of India are Ooty, Kodaikanal (hill stations), Bangalore,Mysore, Nelliyampathy, Athirapally and Vazhachal Water Falls etc.
4.5. How to Reach FCRIFCRI is at Palakkad, a town located in the Southern part of the Indian Peninsula (Kerala State). The nearest airport isat Coimbatore which is 40 Km from Palakkad town. It is well connected to the International Airports of New Delhi,Bombay (Mumbai), Madras (Chennai), Bangalore, Kochi and Kozhikode. Other nearest airports to FCRI are Kochi(120 Kms) and Kozhikode (140 Kms).
4.6 ClimateTropical climatic conditions prevail in this area.
