Dear Parents/Carers,Your child has chosen a reading book to read and enjoy independently as well as sharing it with you at home. This reading record is for you and your child to keep a diary of the books that they have read as well as completing a tasks. Once you have shared the book and discussed it along the way, please feel free to put your comment in the diary, as it is useful for us in school. It is of the upmost importance that your child understands what they are reading so that they are able to process and enjoy a range of literature. To help with reading comprehension, always ask you child questions about the book through friendly discussion and ask them to complete a reading challenge from the diary. Please also find overleaf a list of medium frequent words of which children should be able to read and write by the end of Year 4. Why not play games and create challenges to support learning these words? This page may also be useful when completing homework. At school we encourage the children to read on a daily basis and with your support at home combined with the support at school we hope that your child will make fantastic reading progress during this next academic year.Thank you
