DESCRIPTION
FLS HF6 is a new family of transmitters suitable for hydrostatic level/depth measurement and for pressure monitoring. PVDF body and ceramic diaphragm with FPM sealing system offer a smart combination of valuable wetted materials. The semi-flush diaphragm can work properly and for long time in pasty media and with liquids tending to crystallize. HF6 family can be also the finest choice for clean water applications in case customer would maximize operating time. The compact design can fit all main applications related to aggressive and corrosive liquids granting different solutions of installation: screwin (combined with a FIP valve or fitting), submersed with PUR cable running into pipe and submersed with PUR/FEP cable in contact with liquid. Other operating ranges and selectable length of cable in addition to sealing material options offer a customized solution to match the customer needs in the best possible way.
Specific Statements• The ceramic diaphragm is subject to breakage by over-pressure conditions or mechanical contact. Handle with care. Do not attempt to test the sensor by pressing on the diaphragm.• Use a suitable thread sealant to provide a watertight connection.• Hand tighten the nut. Do not use tools.• Do not allow the cable to be bent or compressed.• Do not allow damp spreads down the vent capillary to the rear of the diaphragm, the sensor may be damaged.• Blocked or damaged vent capillary cause an improper operating.• Short duration pressure pulses or shocks, called ‘‘water hammer,’’ are generated by a rapid change in flow rate caused by the operation of system components such as compressors, pumps, pistons and valves. The water hammer can reach pressure levels much higher than the nominal pressure risking to damage the ceramic membrane.• It’s suggested to install a pressure snubber (properly sized) at or near the input of a pressure sensor in order to protect it from water hammer damage. Snubber slows the rate of change of system flow.• When threading the sensor into a piping system, any backpressure can damage the ceramic diaphragm.• Open nearby valves to relieve any backpressure while threading the sensor into the pipe.• If the nearby valves cannot be open while threading the sensor into the pipe, a bleed valve can be installed to avoid overpressure.• Make sure there are no air bubbles in the pipe, particularly if a long and flexible hose is used to tap into the process pipe. Air bubbles could cause reading fluctuation and errors.

DIMENSIONS
INSTALLATION
FLS HF6 Level & Pressure transmitter is a gauge pressure sensor. Gauge pressure sensor measures the difference in pressure between the process on one side of a diaphragm and the atmospheric pressure on the opposite side of the diaphragm. A tiny capillary tube inside the sensor body is used to ensure that the back of the diaphragm remains at atmospheric pressure. If moisture is allowed to propagate down this tube to the rear of the diaphragm, the sensor may be damaged. Hydrostatic pressure measurement offers a level measurement can be a simple and practical solution to those applications where the fluid temperature is stable and constant. Be careful to apply this technology if the fluid is subject to temperature variations or any other variable that causes the density of the fluid to change.

Relation between Pressure and Level is:h = p / (ρ * g)p = hydrostatic pressure [barg]ρ = fluid specific weight [kg/m³]g = force or gravitational acceleration [m/s²] = 9,80665 m/s² h = height of water column [m]
FLS transmitter can be installed in-line mode using a FIP saddle, FIP valves or a FIP T fitting through ¾” G thread male on the bottom of body, as well as, in submersion mode using a FIP double socket fitting ½” R thread female or, in according with the chemical compatibilities of cable, with cable in contact with fluid directly.
