DESCRIPTION

There is not a musical category that you cannot find a New Orleanians foot print on. New Orleans hip hop has traditionally been an anomaly or footnote in the evolution of hip hop to mainstream. Or at least that was the case before the world was introduced to the No Limit/YMCMB eras respectively. N.O. artists and producers dug their roots deeply into home soil, fine-tuning works from upstart studios and emerging artist since the early ‘90s. Despite the recent milestones set by artists like Lil Wayne, the question still remains, “Who got next”?
