Dear parents and carers, Election Day Sausage Sizzle On Election Day, we held a sausage sizzle and cake stall which raised $400 dollars to go towards programs at our school. I would like to thank Terry and Julie Pollett for all the lovely cakes and bickies they made. Without their contribution, our cake stall would have been very small. Thanks also to Christine, Marie, Bree, Paul, Clare, Annie, Terry, Tony, Demmi, Cherie and Sean who helped on the day, or contributed to the stall. These events act not just as fundraisers, but also as an important way for us to promote our school in the wider community. It was great to talk to past students, teachers, parents and business managers who came to vote on the day. Christmas Crafts Our gorgeous Miss Davis organised a successful craft afternoon on Wednesday where parents, students and friends came together to make Christmas cards and gifts in an atmosphere of friendship and harmony. Mrs McDonald even came in on her day off to join the fun and assist in the preparation. Ribbon trees, stamped cards and a variety of ornaments were created and taken home to share with the family. Our Christmas gift hamper is overflowing and Miss Davis will work with the SRC members to make a number of gift boxes to send home to families in the community. Thank-you for all your contributions! End of Year With only three weeks to go to the end of 2018 school year, the children are full of excitement and are becoming easily tired. Rehearsals for our
school concert are going well, art works are being finished for the Art Exhibition and classrooms are continuing to run regular literacy and
numeracy activities. It is important for children to keep to a regular routine, be on time for school and prepared for the school day. Healthy
lunches and lots of water help children to stay focused and calm during the school day. Many students are bringing highly processed
packaged snacks to school that give only a short burst of energy that is followed by a low, which causes lack of concentration and irritability for some students. Healthy
snacks such as extra fruit, vegetables or a sandwich provide a more sustained energy for children and assists them in their

in their learning. A great way for children to develop independence is to ask them to prepare and pack their own lunch the night before school. Remember we strive to be a nude food school!
Volunteer Morning Tea Wednesday 5th December
If you have helped around the school or at school events, we invite you to attend a morning tea at 11:00am this Wednesday. Invitations have been sent home, but if for some reason, yours has not arrived please come along anyway. We are extremely grateful to our School Council Members, PFG members, working bee helpers, classroom reading assistants, The Men’s Shed, CFA, Landcare and many more groups and individuals. We still have a vacancy on the School Council for 2019. Please consider how you can assist to make our school an even better place.

Pumpernickel has flown off to visit a new place in Australia. Can you guess where he went?
1. This is the third biggest city in Victoria. 2. The name of this city means, ‘elbow place’ in the Aboriginal language. 3. A gold rush started in this city in 1851. 4. The Eureka Stockade/Rebellion happened here in 1854 where 30 miners
where killed. 5. This city is on the banks of Lake Wendouree. 6. The TV Show Dr Blake Mysteries was filmed here.
Research in books and the internet and be ready to be called upon at assembly with your answer. Good luck!

Letters for Santa welcome!
Father Christmas does like to talk to
children, not just hand out lollies. We also
hit the siren as the kids love to hear it!
The Firies and community members love
this ‘run’ and get as much happiness out of
it as the children do. We also believe this
helps our kids to realise that we don’t just
fight fires– we also help Father Christmas
by giving the reindeers a rest!
