FLOWER SYLLABLE SORT Thank you for downloading our free printable Flower Syllable Sort Activity. This phonological awareness activity can be used during small group, centers, or as an independent task during your flower theme or spring activities. TIPS & IDEAS FOR USE Print the pages. Cut out the pots and flowers. Laminate for extended use. If you’d like the pieces to be smaller, to save ink or fit in file folders adjust the settings on your printer to print two sheets per page. Quick Tips: 1) When introducing the activity take time to discuss the vocabulary for each object pictured on the flowers so kids are familiar. 2) Enhance the activity by incorporating movement or manipulatives to further reinforce kids’ learning. Try: a) Using real flower petals or sunflower seeds. Have kids show one manipulative for each syllable in the pictured object before placing the flower with the picture in the correct pot b) Pretend to “plant“ a seed for each syllable in the word before they add the flower to the correct pot.
