1. Draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of (10) 3⅛" x 3⅛" background (C) squares and (2) 3⅛" x 3⅛" green (F) squares.
2. Place a marked (C) square on the top le� corner of (1) 3⅛" x 5⅜" (D) rectangle as shown. Sew on the drawn line. Trim ¼" beyond the drawn line and press the (C) triangle out to make a 3⅛" x 5⅜" le� side rectangle. Make 2.
3. Place a marked (C) square on the top right corner of (1) 3⅛" x 5⅜" (D) rectangle as shown. Sew on the drawn line. Trim ¼" beyond the drawn line and press the seam toward the (D) rectangle to make a 3⅛" x 5⅜" right side rectangle. Make 2.

4. Sew (1) le� side rectangle to (1) right side rectangle as shown to make a 3⅛" x 10¼" nine-patch square side border. Press the seam open. Make 2.
5. Sew a side border to both sides of the nine-patch square from chapter one, noting the orientation of each side border. Press the seams open.

6. Place a marked (C) square on the top le� corner of (1) 3⅛" x 8" (E) rectangle as shown. Sew on the drawn line. Trim ¼" beyond the drawn line and press the (C) triangle out.
7. Place a second marked (C) square on the top right corner of the rectangle as shown. Sew on the drawn line. Trim ¼" beyond the drawn line and press the seam toward the (E) rectangle to make a top rectangle. Make 2.

8. Place a marked (F) square on the top le� corner of (1) 3⅛" x 8" (E) rectangle as shown. Sew on the drawn line. Trim ¼" beyond the drawn line and press the (F) triangle out.
9. Place a marked (C) square on the top right corner of the rectangle as shown. Sew on the drawn line. Trim ¼" beyond the drawn line and press the (C) triangle out to make a le� bottom rectangle.

14. Repeat steps 1-13 to make a total of (11) Flower blocks.
12. Sew (2) top rectangles together as shown to make a 3⅛" x 15½" top border, nesting the seams. Press the seam open. Sew to the top of the nine-patch unit. Press seam toward the top border.
13. Sew (1) le� bottom rectangle to (1) right bottom rectangle as shown to make a 3⅛" x 15½" bottom border, nesting the seams.. Press the seam open. Sew to the bottom of the nine- patch unit. Press seam toward the bottom border to complete a 15½" x 15½" Flower block.
10. Place a marked (F) square on the top right corner of (1) 3⅛" x 8" (E) rectangle as shown. Sew on the drawn line. Trim ¼" beyond the drawn line and press the seam toward the (E) rectangle.

11. Place a marked (C) square on the top le� corner of the rectangle as shown. Sew on the drawn line. Trim ¼" beyond the drawn line and press the seam toward the (E) rectangle to make a right bottom rectangle.
