and business districts to reduce flooding.

2. Dredge channels to improve water flow and reduce flooding.

3. Reinforce creeks and ditches to prevent overflow or erosion.

4. Improve the water quality of Cross Bayou watershed which drains into Old Tampa Bay and Boca Ciega Bay.

PUBLIC SAFETY & HURRICANE PREPAREDNESS1. Create a new centralized emergency communications

center.

2. Develop additional hurricane evacuation shelter spaces.

3. Convert emergency radio system to a national standard so more than 9,000 regional public safety users can communicate with each other during an emergency.

4. Build a hurricane-resistant facility to house Public Works’ emergency responders who support storm recovery operations.
