Consequences of Being UninsuredConsequences of Being Uninsured• Parents may forego or delay medical care or

prescription medicines for their children.

• Children who are not insured all year are much less likely to receive any medical care.

• Parents keep their kids out of athletics because they cannot afford medical bills for their children’s sports-related injuries.

• Uninsured children in the United States are less likely to have a “medical home.”
